Anyone who saw my Instagram post from last week, will know I received a parcel I was very excited about, but I couldn’t reveal at that point what it was. Well now I can:
The parcel was (drum roll please) the Shrinking Violet Home Edition Shrink Wrap Kit.
I love the idea of a shrink wrap, but in all honesty, I would never get around to going to the salon for one, so this at home DIY kit is perfect for me.
Don’t get me wrong, the idea of loosing inches this easily appeals to me, but what also appeals is the fact that this kind of treatment draws toxins out of your body through the skin.
Who doesn’t want an easy way to get rid of toxins, and with an inch loss bonus?
Shrinking Violet is a UK based brand, although it is well established world wide.
This product was originally developed for salon use, but the brand are now selling their at home kits to appeal to a wider market and bring you salon results at at-home prices.
This brand is the only one of its kind to be clinically proven, so you know you are in good hands.
It’s quick and easy. All you have to do is apply the lotion to any problem areas, pop the suit on and leave it on for one hour. Simple right?
Everything you need is included in the kit, so there are no “oh you need this too” cons with this.
I love the packaging, it’s clean and simple. Nothing fussy or gimmicky. It looks like a professional product from a professional company.
The Shrinking Violet lotion is a 200ml oil based solution. The solution has been fully tested in a professional environment. It’s a good sized bottle, so you will get plenty of treatments from it. The lotion is enhanced by the shrinky suit.
The suit works by raising your body temperature. It only raises two degrees, so it is safe to wear whilst exercising should you choose to.
Personally, I think I will use the hour to catch up on some reading.
The suit encourages the body to perspire, which is how the skin is cleansed of toxins. The perspiration may cause a little itching whilst you are wearing the suit.
After wearing the suit for an hour, you should see some instant results, and the treatment continues to work for a full 72 hours after the treatment.
It is advised that you don’t swim, shower or exercise for 12 hours after removing the suit to ensure the treatment reaches its full capacity.
If there is still any lotion on your skin, just massage it lightly in. It is also recommended that you drink at least 1L of water a day for 3-4 days after to encourage the toxins to leave your body. You may also notice you pee more than usual for the first day or two after treatment.
It is recommended that you use this product for 90 days to get the full results.
Month 1 – Use once a week
Month 2 – Use once a fortnight
Month 3 – Use once within the month
It is then recommended that you have a treatment once or twice a year to maintain your results.
One of the things I really love about this product is that it doesn’t claim to be a miracle cure. It clearly states that if you continually consume more calories than your daily intake should be, that these results will be lost. It makes a point of promoting healthy eating and exercising regularly to remain healthy.
I will be doing my first treatment tomorrow. I’m so excited to try this product.
I will be posting an update next Tuesday of my first week’s progress, so stay tuned for that.

OMG, I have used one of these in a beauty salon. I had the lotion on and they wrapped me up in bandages for an hour whilst putting me on toning tables. It certainly helps you lose weight and sounds like you have a bin bag on – it really works – I so want one now! 🙂

I have never even heard of this. Although that is not a surprise as I am not into beauty stuff. Hope it goes well. Kirsten
