Another month over. This year has just flown. I say that every year but this year seems to have gone even faster. Santa will be here before we know it.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to do my usual reflection post where I share with you my top 3 popular posts and my bottom 3 least popular posts.
As I’m sure most of you know, I changed blog platforms earlier this month, so consequently, each post’s counter re-starts at zero.
Luckily, my overall hit count (the one displayed on the right) didn’t. Well, technically it did but when you add the plugin, you can start the counter from whichever number you choose. I didn’t cheat (it’s sort of cheating yourself as I’m sure I’m the only one that cares) but I did start it from the figure I left off at on Blogger.
Anyway, because the post hit counters reset mid-month, I have no idea which posts did better than others. Part of me is in melt down mode losing these stats (although my main gripe is that my DA went from 41 back to 1) and part of me feels kind of liberated not knowing and just sort of rolling with it.
I will share with you what I do know.
My theme kind of went out of the window this month and the month became a bit of a mix of posts. A lot of people where interested to hear about my move so I wrote a bit about that. I also caught up on October’s reading list (finally).
This month has been the biggest learning curve on my blog to date. I moved platform, went self hosted and had a complete re-design. I had to learn about using WordPress and plugins. I also finally added a signature to my email (how bad is it that I have just gotten around to that now after 10 months using it).
And not forgetting that my blog went down after all of two days of it being live.
Luckily, it was up for the rest of the world just not for me. So not a massive disaster, but not great when you can’t access your own blog.
After a lot of messing around in PHP files and re-configuring my DNS server settings (I told you it was a learning curve) I finally figured out it was to do with my firewall. I’m still not entirely sure what happened, but after uninstalling and re-installing it, it came back.
How was your month? Let me know in the comments π

It’s funny, i found November to be a very long month. My birthday was the first week and that seems like ages ago. Been wet and dreary here. Maybe thats why

Eurgh your blog going down must have been rubbish. I must have missed that one. I think I have been a bit slower on the blog recently. Lots going on and lots to do. Think all will grind to a holt over Xmas! Thanks for sharing with #bestandworst and see you soon x

It certainly was! Time for more swearing, cursing and yelling at the laptop I was going back to Blogger, you know, like the laptop cares lol! Yes, I think December will be a quiet month for a lot of us blog wise. Thanks for hosting, speak soon π x

Wow you have had a bit of a month! Blogging wise sounds pretty tough! π Congrats on making the move though, I think I would be a bit too lazy to hassle with all that, so I have decided to stay on my free and easy blogger with a vanity url π
It it great though that now you can get a very unique theme – blogger themes can be a bit samey. Good luck with your current learning curve (I bet there are loads of things to learn!) and thanks for linking to #mymonthlyroundup π

It was tough but I’m really glad I did it! I love the term vanity url lol π I just couldn’t get it how I wanted it to look and it had got to the point where I cringed every time I looked at it, and I figured if I felt that way others must feel that way when they visited too.
Thank you, there are! Thanks for hosting π
