My Christmas decorations are finally up. They normally go up around the 4th of December but with everything going on this month, they have been pushed back and pushed back.
This weekend, I decided it was time to get them done, however long it took. It ended up taking Saturday and Sunday to get them all finished.
Considering I don’t have any children, some people would say it’s pointless, but I love Christmas and Christmas decorations are a major part of it.
I decorate the front porch, which I haven’t photographed as the room is so small it seemed a bit pointless, the dining room and of course the sitting room.
It’s been quite a productive three days as I got all my presents bought today. Now I just need to write out cards (I know, I am ridiculously late), wrap the presents and do the food shop.
Anyway, back to the post, I thought I would share some pictures of my Christmas decorations with you today. I hope you like them.
Sitting Room
I love my tree, I think I would have to say it’s my favourite Christmas decoration anywhere I go. When I look at other trees, I like the ones that are themed and perfect, but when it comes to my own, I like a mucky mixture of decorations, some with meaning, some I just like and some I’m not even sure where they came from.
I love all the Christmassy figures. All my normal ornaments get stored away to be replaced with Christmas ones. The snow effect is really easy to do – I use cotton wool rolls and peel off the top layer to expose the fluffy bit.
As much as I wanted to put cotton wool on here too, it doesn’t seem like a good idea from a safety perspective!
I’ve got a thing for blue Christmas lights, they make me think of cold and snow. Please excuse the blurriness. It was absolutely lashing down when I took this. I also made a little video of the lights flashing but due to rain and the fact I couldn’t seem to get a 10 second video without getting a text (you can hear the text tone in the vid) after three attempts I gave up.
Dining Room
I can’t resist the snow effect. This isn’t a weird shaped unit by the way, it’s a photo of the top and of the bottom.
Another one that’s easy to make. The little red tree is a tree shaped card holder with tinsel wrapped around it. It looks a bit flat in the photo, but it’s actually tree shaped.
And finally, the dining table. This is how it will look until Christmas Eve when it will be set for dinner.
So that’s it, my Christmas decorations are finally up. When do you put your Christmas decorations up?Β Let me know in the comments π

My tree went up on the 3rd. It is a work of art which takes me all day to do, and then the rest of the month to perfect. I have cut down a lot on the number of decorations Inhave put up this year, no ceiling decs, but I will always have a huge display of santas, snowmen, reindeer and trees that sing dance and light up x #TwinklyTuesday

I read your post about decorating your tree, I just don’t have the patience lol π I love the ones that sing and dance! x
Our Cherry Tree
We put our tree up the first weekend of December but I’m still getting round to all the other bits. #TwinklyTuesday

I was so late this year I had to get it all done pretty much straight away!

I confess to being a complete control freak when it comes to Christmas decorations. This year, I agreed that my husband could decorate the tree. He did it while I was out. I came home and had changed the lights within 10 minutes of walking through the door. In my defence, it wasn’t just control-freakery – he had put the bright white exterior lights on the tree (!!!) and they were giving me a migraine. That, and they just didn’t look right…….! #TwinklyTuesday

Haha, I think you were very brave letting your hubby loose on the tree if you like everything in its place π I think even I would draw the line at the one lol!

Love the snow effect on your tv stand, what a good idea! All looks very Christmassy. We normally put ours up the first or second weekend in December. Though the decorations on the tree are still a bit sparse due to kiddies keep taking them off! #twinklytuesday

Thank you π I can imagine keeping the lower branches decorated is a constant battle!

I love how Christmassy you are Debbie! The fake snow is a really clever idea! And with kid those decoration wouldn’t last 5 minutes in our house! #twinklytuesday

Thank you, it’s the time of year to go a bit mad with decorations π That’s true, I dread to think how they would do with kiddies around lol

We love your Christmas tree! Ours is a green one but we have red bows on it as well (post before yours) The Father Christmas ornament is very cute. We always have to scramble putting up a Christmas tree, mainly because my folks don’t trust me π #TwinklyTuesday

Great post. Amazing decos. I never thought I was a fan of white trees but yours is so lovely with the red bows that I just changed my mind.
