I leave pretty much all my Christmas things until December every year so I am no stranger to rushing around to get everything done.
In fact I actually quite like it. This year though I have no idea how I’m going to get it done. With my Grandmother still in hospital (yes this is still ongoing from July) I just don’t know where the time is going to come from.
I always take a week’s holiday from work to get sorted, I have again this year which is a bonus, but I am at the hospital from 1.30 until 8 everyday.
Here’s what I have to do:
Get The Decorations Up
Usually, I put the lights up and get everything prepared on the Sunday afternoon, then spend Monday from about 9-7 and Tuesday from about 9-4 getting them all up and putting all the boxes back away.
Write The Cards Out and Get Them Sent
This one isn’t so bad, it’s only a couple of hours. I still need to buy stamps and the family cards first though, so I think the buying presents will happen first and I can get cards and stamps while I’m there.
Buy and Wrap The Presents
Usually this entails a full day out of town shopping followed by the night time wrapping them all. This will now have to be split over 2 or 3 days.
Sort The Charity Things Out
This one isn’t so bad – I can incorporate the kids charity presents into my present shopping day. After that I only need a quick food bank grocery shop and make up the hampers for the work’s Christmas raffle.
It’s a good job I enjoy rushing around stressed out. Oh, and to make it a bit harder for myself, I have decided to double post here all through December as well! Has anyone got a spare day I could have?
What do you have to do this week? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Goodness, what a week!
You must have a LOT of decorations if it takes you two days to put them all up! I like that you do a food bank shop; that’s lovely.
This week I’m overseeing our church Christmas tree being installed. I need to write and send more Christmas cards. Order presents for my nephews and niece. Wrap a bunch of presents. Finish off some craft projects from the kids to give to Godparents…and I really must get to the gym and write some more posts for the website!!
