So, I know I have already posted a Christmas cocktail recipe, but I am posting this one for two reasons. Firstly, I am not a gin drinker, so I rarely make gin based cocktails, but I was asked to share a gin based cocktail recipe so here goes.
Secondly, well it’s Christmas. Nothing wrong with having two cocktails to try.
If you missed the first one, Santa’s Ruin, you can find it here.
Christmas Cocktail Recipe: Berry Christmas
You Will Need:
50ml gin I used Gordon’s but any brand you prefer will work. You could even try it with sloe gin for a totally different flavour combination.
25ml Cointreau – If this isn’t something you will use again, rather than buying a large bottle and wasting it, most off licences stock this in those little 50ml bottles. If you do buy a bigger bottle, it’s fab with lemonade.
1 bottle apple and raspberry flavour J2O.
1/2 a fresh lime
3 fresh raspberries, and 1 slice of orange to decorate if required.
To Make it:
Mix the gin and Cointreau together in a standard half pint glass (or a fancy one if you prefer!)
Add the J2O until the glass is about 3/4 full.
Squeeze in the juice from the 1/2 lime – it doesn’t matter if a bit of pulp goes in, it adds to the flavour, but if the thought of a few “bits” puts you off, squeeze onto a little plate and pour in using a spoon to hold back the bits.
Decorate with fresh raspberries and an orange slice.
To make a longer drink, add lemonade to your taste preference.
Warning: This is stronger than it tastes.
As I mentioned, I don’t drink gin, but I tried this out on a few gin drinkers and they all loved it. They also liked the one where I used Bacardi instead of Cointreau, but I thought that was a bit boring.
Are you going to give this cocktail recipe a go? What’s your favourite Christmas cocktail? Let me know in the comments 🙂

lol I believe your warning! Sounds delicious. I’m not a huge fan of gin but when it’s mixed with other flavours it’s quite nice. Your combination here sounds so fresh & yummy!! I’m pinning to my cocktail board. Thanks so much for sharing them with my holiday linky. I hope you have enjoyed your holidays x
