January’s theme is New Beginnings.
As we say good bye to one year and hello to another, we are left with a new beginning, a chance to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new.
Whether 2015 was a good year or a bad one, it is over now and January is a time to look to the future. It’s a blank slate on which we can write whatever we want, our hopes, our dreams and our ambitions.
I won’t be posting a list of New Year’s resolutions as such, I never stick to them anyway (although last year I stuck to one and actually started my novel) but I will be posting my 2016 blogging bucket list, plus how I faired on last year’s.
There will also be posts on how to get motivated and stay motivated, how to let go of past negativity, plus so much more.
I have a guest post lined up for later on this week and all the usual features will be there – Anything Goes, thought of the week, reading list and book reviews. Plus a couple of challenges I will be taking on this year.
I really enjoyed my time off over Christmas and New Year, and I feel so glad to be back. I am energised and raring to go. I think 2016 is going to be an amazing year both on and off line.
2015 was a bit of both good and bad for me. I started my novel (which is nearly done) and my blog, which I feel has come on in leaps and bounds and I am so happy with how my first year went. I met lots of new people through blogging and came to feel a part of this fantastic community.
On the negative side, as some of you know, my grandmother became ill around July time. She was taken into hospital and we were told several times to prepare ourselves for the worst. At the beginning of December, all her treatment was withdrawn and we were told she had about 48 hours. I feel like the last 6 months of the year were a blur of hospitals, stress, guilt, sadness and a tiny bit of hope.
However, she is a fighter and she was discharged from hospital the week before Christmas and she is getting better every day. I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas present and the last six months turned around to end the year on a high.
Happy New Year to you all, I wish you all the very best and I hope this year is the year all your dreams come true.
Thank you to everyone who stuck with me through last year and followed my blogging journey. I hope you all stick around for this year and many more to come!

Nice post – I’m the same, I have more of a bucket list this year and it feels much better. #twinklytuesday

Thank you 🙂 I do love a bucket list!

I resolved last year to chase down my dreams of writing and set up my blog as a means to do so, committing to posting something every day – I’m not much of a goal setter but I DID IT! 2015 was pretty rough for me with some crappy stuff happening at work (being made redundant etc) so the quality of the posts towards the end was questionable, but i feel like I accomplished something!
2016 will see adventure for us… my hubby and I decided 3 weeks ago to seek up everything and travel around australia for 18 months in a caravan so we’re working towards leaving in August! Can’t wait to see what that brings!
I look forward to checking in on your blog more this year 🙂

Well done on meeting your goal! You did accomplish something and you should be proud of yourself 🙂 That sounds amazing, I hope you have a brilliant time!
