I’m a little behind on January’s reading list. I’m about a quarter of the way into the last book, so it would probably be stupid to make February’s reading list have eight books instead of the usual four, right?
But, that’s exactly what I’ve done.
If I want to hit my reading target that I’ve set out in my reading challenge this year I’ll have to up my game a bit.
It will be hard, but I will be making a conscious effort to make some extra time for reading.
February’s Reading List
Perfect People by Peter James
This is a book about a couple who go to a scientist who claims to be able to genetically modify their baby while he/she is still in the womb, and create a designer baby. The idea of the fascinates me (in terms of fiction, in real life, I would steer well clear).
In A Dark Dark Wood by Ruth Ware
This one is about a hen night out in a remote cottage, where two old friends plan to re-connect. The scope for what can go wrong is wide open, and I love the sound of the creepy setting.
The Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan
I’ve had this series on my list since forever ago. It was recommended to me last year, and then I read Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summerย which made me want to read this even more. I loved Rick Riordan’s writing style and I am really looking forward to getting to grips with this series. The series is five books, which I am intending to review as one so there is less risk of spoilers for anyone who hasn’t read them yet.
The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan
This was actually a Christmas gift. It was given to me by a very good friend of mine who knows me extremely well and knows exactly what I enjoy reading (actually it was a gift off her children, but I’m sure she had a hand in choosing this). I love reading things someone else has chosen for me.
I’m really looking forward to these books, and I have a feeling this will be the month I catch up, because I think all of these are going to be major page turners.

I love checking out other people’s reading lists ๐ I’m such a moody reader that I wouldn’t like to pick the books out a month in advance as I tend to read whatever I fancy next. Some good choices there though. Interesting to know what you think of the book about the designer baby ๐

I do too, I always find a book or two to put on my to read list. I do sometimes wish I could choose a different book instead of what I had pre-chosen, but if I don’t pre-choose them I know I wouldn’t get through them! I’m really looking forward to that one ๐

Great list again, I raise a glass to trying to read them all this month lol! You really inspired me to start reading again, amazon.com is loving me right now lol ๐

I think I might need a glass or two of something to get through all of these in a month, but here’s to trying! I’m so glad it made you want to start reading again, but sorry for the spending side lol ๐

I so wish I prioritised reading more! I love reading but never seem to get round to doing it. I am determined to try and read more this year. It was interesting reading your list ๐ #TheList

It’s not always easy to find the time, and it’s one of the things that tends to be cut when you find yourself too busy. I couldn’t image not reading at all though so I always try to fit it in, even if it’s at 4 and 5am lol! Thank you ๐
