We all need a little me time. A time to spend quietly reflecting, shopping, sipping cocktails, watching football, whatever it is that you want to do.
Parents: before you let the guilt kick in, I think you especially deserve some me time.
3 Reasons We All Need Some Me Time
It’s important to prioritise some time that’s just for you. We spend so much time working, parenting (where applicable), doing household things etc that sometimes, me time is the thing that we cut when we are pressed for time. Here are three reasons to make a bit of time for yourself:
It will leave you feeling refreshed
Did you ever look at your to-do list and just think no way? Now is an important time to re-charge your batteries and have a bit of me time. You will come back refreshed and ready to face that list.
It keeps you in touch with yourself
It is easy to lose our identities as we negotiate the trials and tribulations life throws at us. We are in danger of losing ourselves completely if we don’t make a little time to do the things we love.
Because you deserve it
Everyone deserves a little bit of me time. It’s nice to have even an hour or two scheduled into the week to do something we love. Think of it as a treat for doing all the necessities throughout the week.
Make sure to set a few hours (or more if you can spare the time) aside this week and do something you love. Even if it’s something as simple as a bubble bath and you’re favourite book.
Do you make time for yourself? What do you enjoy doing during your me time? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Michelle
I have been so busy lately that the only me time I have been getting is at night when after the kids go to bed and I finally have a chance to lay down and listen to some music. Today its really cold but tomorrow it’s supposed to be 50 degrees F so I’m hoping to go for a nice long hike tomorrow. My me time varies on my time and what I’m in the mood to do but I agree that it is important because for me, it helps me remember who I am and I make time for self-reflection. You hit it spot on Debbie:-)

I love listening to music, like really listening to the lyrics not just having it on in the back ground. A walk sounds good too, but only when the weather is good, so fingers crossed for your warm day. Thank you 🙂
