My Thoughts on The Book
I wasn’t sure what I was going to make of Heroes of Olympus – The Demigod Diaries. I was kind of thinking it might just be sort of padding. I was wrong. It’s a great bridge between the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus series.
We get to hear a little about what became of Percy and Annabeth after the battle in the last book in the series. We also get to meet some characters from the next series.
It was also good learning a little more background about Luke before he came to camp.
There’s also a story about what became of one of the demigods who was part of Kronos’s army after the last book. This story is written by Rick Riordan’s son and it was a nice addition.
Conclusion and Rating
This was a decent read, and worth a look if you have already read the Percy Jackson series and are planning on reading the Heroes of Olympus series. I wouldn’t recommend it as a stand alone piece, but it is a fun little read as a bridge between the two series. 3/5
