This week’s thought of the week quote is dedicated to Mother’s Day. There’s actually two quotes as I couldn’t choose between them.
The first one is:
“Your mother loves you in a way no one else can or will. She loves you even when you don’t love yourself”
A mother’s love for her child(ren) is the true definition of unconditional. From the moment you are conceived, through thick and thin, that love is there. When you fail at something and feel like you’re worthless, your mother knows this isn’t true. She will be there in a heartbeat, even if all she can do is hug you and give you ice cream.
The second one, which always brings a lump to my throat, is:
“If a mother was given a choice between breathing or loving her children, she would use her last breath to tell them she loves them”
I think that one speaks for itself, it’s such a beautiful sentiment, and I’m sure all the mother’s out there will be nodding along with it.
A mother’s love knows no bounds. A mother will cry for her children, lie for them, even die for them. She will always put herself second best for the sake of her children.
She carried you, nurtured you, taught you right from wrong, fed you, nursed you when you were sick, laughed with you, played with you.
You were her light, her love, her music and you always will be.
Show her everyday how much you love and appreciate her.
It’s easy to take your mother for granted. She’s the constant – the one who’s always been there – for your first day at school, your first heartbreak, and everything in between.
Sadly, she won’t be around forever. Seize the chance to show her how much she means to you. Not just on Mother’s Day, but every day. Be there for her like she was always there for you, and most importantly, tell her you love her.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there, you all rock!
