Welcome to April’s reading list.
Firstly, for anyone that has noticed I haven’t posted reviews of The Fall and Eternal Night from last month’s reading list, I decided it would be hard to review them without giving away spoilers from the first book, so only The Strain gets a review. Usually I read and review books as a series in this circumstance but I had already posted The Strain’s review when I realised. Anyway, they were just as good as the first one.
Every month, I say I feel like I am behind on my reading. I thought I would miss completing my 50 book challenge for the year by a mile. After counting up what’s on the list so far for the year, I have read 23 books. Not bad going for March just being finished. I might hit my goal after all.
Anyway, I have wandered off on a tangent.
Here, as promised, is April’s reading list:
- Misery by Stephen King. I read this book years ago, in fact, it was one of the first Stephen King books I ever read. I was talking about it a couple of days ago (I can’t remember why now) and it set me off wanting to re-read it.
- The Bad Place by Dean Koontz. I am a huge fan of Dean Koontz. When I went off searching at the back of the book shelves for Misery, I stumbled across this one and realised it somehow got shoved to the back before I had read it.
- The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum. I have read several reviews of this book, all of which agree it’s pretty intense and gory. One went so far as to say they couldn’t finish it because they felt so ill reading it. As a horror fan of course I was intrigued so here it’s on this month’s reading list. I hope it lives up to the hype.
- The Shepherd by Ethan Cross. Blood, guts, mind games and torture. Say no more.

Wow 23 already! I don’t get a lot of time to read at the mo. Love Misery. You’ve made me want to reread it now! I just started a book about a brain surgeon. I think it’s called do no harm.

Wow! 23 books so far?! And a 50 book goal? My goal is a mere 36 (3 books a month)! I can’t even imagine having completed 23 books in 3 months! Go you! 🙂

I was shocked when I realised how many I had gotten through so far – it makes me think I have too much time on my hands lol 🙂
