Welcome to day five of the A to Z Challenge! My theme is 100 word (give or take a word or two) flash fiction on the darker side of human nature. I hope you enjoy.
Evil
People say I am evil. Of course, they don’t know they are talking about me when they tell me how evil I am. They are talking about someone faceless, nameless. Someone who kills. They don’t know anything. Only what they read in the newspapers and see on the TV. And the people supplying those stories are idiots. They see evil, they miss the beauty. They miss the freedom I am granting my so called victims. They are not victims; they are souls released to a better place. I am not evil, this world is evil and I am their redemption.
For extended versions of the A-Z flash fiction pieces and some whole new stories too, download my book, Twisted Tales.

Thank you, I’m glad you liked it 🙂

Now *this* is really dark. But I’m sure it’s how many evil people think. They don’t view themselves as evil at all.
Debbie, My Random Musings
I think those are the people who are truly scary, when they don’t even see what they do as wrong!
Melissa Sugar
The ominous tone of this piece of flash fiction is fantastic. Very dark and creepy. You did a wonderful job writing it. You’ve truly captured how evil people think. A sense of foreboding came over me as I read the last line.
Debbie, My Random Musings
Thank you, I’ve always been tempted to write something from a killer’s view point! I’m glad you felt that way about it 🙂

Oh my. I wonder how long that one will choose to live in anonymity. I think letter writing to the newspapers (or maybe on social media) is in that person’s immediate future…
Debbie, My Random Musings
I don’t think it would be long before they were making themselves known!
Leah Miller
I am really enjoying your series of short stories.
I don’t know if you have ever watched it, but this one I can imagine “Dexter” saying!
Brilliant

Another excellent piece of ‘flash’ written with a flourish. This piece like others you’ve given us would fit well into a story. 🙂
Debbie, My Random Musings
Thank you 🙂 I would love to turn this into a longer piece!
Patricia Lynne
I love the ending. It has a dark truth to it in a way.

Once again this comes to show how relative are the terms we’ve coined. Btw this reminded me of a movie I watched recently – “Solace”. You should check it out if you haven’t.
Debbie, My Random Musings
Oh, I haven’t seen it, will definitely check it out, thanks!
Trisha Faye
You wrapped it up wonderfully with that last line!

Ohh this is very dark indeed. I can imagine this is how evil people actually think, they probably don’t see themselves as evil at all. Love your writing style Debbie xx #anythinggoes
Debbie, My Random Musings
Thank you 🙂 I think that’s the scariest thing about truly evil people – they don’t see themselves as evil!
Michelle
That was very good Debbie! From the serial killer’s perspective:) Thanks so much for hosting #anythinggoes
