What a lovely surprise I got this morning when I logged into Facebook and found messages congratulating me on making the short list of the 2016 Britmums BiBs awards in the Reader’s Choice category. I am still in shock, and I am so, so happy.
I would like to thank each and every person who voted for me and everyone who has reached out today to congratulate me.
You all have no idea how much it means to me (I am going to try and explain in a minute, but honestly, words can’t describe the feeling I had when I heard), and you all rock!
To make this short list is beyond my wildest dreams.
Here’s what it means to me to come so far:
- It means that all those lovely, supportive comments were genuine, not just that people didn’t want to be mean
- It means that people read my blog because they actually like it, not just because they want me to read theirs
- It means the last year and a bit, when I have doubted myself, has all been worth it
- It means every time I stayed up past 4am finishing a post, it was worth the sluggish feeling the next day
- It means every time I looked at my blog and felt I wasn’t quite good enough that maybe, just maybe, I was wrong about that
I have to give a special mention here to Becky from Cuddle Fairy, Laura from Life With Baby Kicks and Clare from Mudpie Fridays. Without those girls telling me I should go for it, I don’t think I would have had the confidence to put myself out there. Thank you so much ladies.
Of course, now it’s an in for a penny, in for a pound kind of thing and I have to cringingly beg for your votes again to make the finals.
I would say it would make my year, but my year has already been made, this would make my decade.
