Welcome to day eighteen of the A to Z Challenge! My theme is 100 word (give or take a word or two) flash fiction on the darker side of human nature. I hope you enjoy.
Regrets
Regrets. I have so many. So much I would do differently. They eat at me, pushing me closer to the edge of insanity. Insanity would be a welcome relief but the regrets are stronger. They keep me just sane enough to really feel them. Every twist of the knife. Everything I would do differently. And as I sit here, I have time on my hands, lots of time, too much. Time to think about what I would do differently if I had a second chance. I would still kill my lover, he cheated on me after all, but I wouldn’t get caught this time.
For extended versions of the A-Z flash fiction pieces and some whole new stories too, download my book, Twisted Tales.

Ouch. That took a twist at the end. Yeah, the getting caught is the doozy.
Definitely not good getting caught
What a big story in just a short paragraph!
Thank you
Haha, wow, did not expect that ending!
VERY nice! You snuck in the knife, and you twisted it, just a flick of the wrist, at just the right angle. Brilliantly done.
Loving your visits & comments over at Life In Dogs, Debbie! Thank you!
Thank you so much

Ooohh, I like that! Getting caught it the worst part, isn’t it?!?
Haha, definitely!
Love it. <3 Flash fiction is so fun to write/read!
Thank you
I’ve always enjoyed reading it and now I find I love writing it too!
I’m sure there are a lot of killers who would say that last line.

Yes, I would bet there are more people who regret getting caught more than they regret what they actually did!
Didn’t expect the ending. I’ve never read such a complete story in such a short form.
Thank you, I hope you liked it
Oh LOVE the twist

Thank you

At first, I was going right along with it because who doesn’t have regrets in life? I know I sure do. Many things I would do differently if I had the chance but then I probably wouldn’t have learned the lesson I needed to learn at the time but then you added the twist at the end, haha! Love it! #anythinggoes
Yeah, I agree we all have regrets, there’s a lot I’d do differently too, but then again maybe those mistakes mean we are exactly where we should be now. I’m glad you liked the twist
