Welcome to day nineteen of the A to Z Challenge! My theme is 100 word (give or take a word or two) flash fiction on the darker side of human nature. I hope you enjoy.
Strangers
Last week, I met a man on a train. A chance encounter. We talked. I told him things about myself I’ve never told anyone. He understood. And now he is gone. I can’t find him. I have searched the station, taken unnecessary train journeys, but he is gone. My friends think I’m crazy. They say we are strangers. They don’t understand. How could they? They’ve never felt this way. We are not strangers. How can we be strangers when I love him this much? I will continue with my search. I will find him and make him love me.
For extended versions of the A-Z flash fiction pieces and some whole new stories too, download my book, Twisted Tales.

Don’t they have a “Missed Connections” on Craigslist or something for moments like this?
Oh I don’t know, I can’t decide if that’s a good idea or a bad idea! Instead of friends reunited it would be like stalkers reunited!
That one is creepy! Gives me shivers.
Thank you 🙂
When she finds that stranger again, I hope he’d know to run.
Yes, me too!
The stranger is probably having a partner. He will be freaked out.
Yes, it would sure freak me out!
Rather creepy!! Great writing!!
Thank you 🙂
I can’t believe I’m finding your blog now! 100 words flash fiction? but that is exactly what I was looking for 🙁 ah well, I can still catch up. And that is one creepy story, Thanks for your comment on my blog 🙂

Thank you 🙂
I could understand a miss connection but she seems a bit unhinged. Who knows if she ever even met this stranger at all. Great post.
Yes, she’s definitely unhinged and it could all be happening in her head!
I hope for the stranger’s sake that she never finds him. Seems to become attached far too easily.
Yes, it would be rather unnerving for the stranger if she hunts him down I would imagine!
very ‘brief encounter’ – reminds me of that time a trainspotter made me nervous at Crewe
Oh, I hope it didn’t turn out to be a stalker lol!
I hope she doesn’t find him. I fear for him if she does! X
Yes, me too! He needs to hide if he spots her around the station
Chance encounters may not really be chance!! Maybe there will be happiness in store! Always an optimist!!!!
@yenforblue from Spice of Life!
There’s nothing wrong with a bit of optimism, although if I was the “stranger” I’d be hoping she didn’t find me!
Just two ships that pass in the night… or something like that.
Yes, a chance encounter that should probably remain just that!
Nice story. An excellent ending with those chilling words, ‘make him love me’…
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
