Unloved
Unloved, alone, he sits and cries. Orphaned, unwanted. Is he so bad that the world can’t love him? How could the world be so cruel? It wasn’t his fault. He didn’t mean to kill them, not his mum and dad. He just wants them back. To feel loved again, wanted. Silently, he cries. The world looks on but doesn’t see. They don’t see the real him. The part that craves their love. Unloved he lives and unloved he will die. Trapped in the cycle of his own making, his own naivety. He thought it would be better this way. He was wrong.

Ooh, scary. You want to feel for the character but at the same time…you don’t feel safe around him, you know?
Yes I know exactly what you mean. You want to hug him but are scared he would be armed!
Tsk tsk, this fellow needs therapy. Behind bars, that is.

I think it’s fair to say they have some issues!

It’s odd when we consider someone else as a monster and to his or her perceptions, they’re just misunderstood.
Yes, its all about perspective!

On some of my earlier posts, some people didn’t realise it was fiction! They probably think I’m a bit of a psycho now lol 🙂 Thank you.
Ooh, such a conflicting little short story! found I felt sorry for him and then I didn’t… But by the end, it came across like a young boy who’s been neglected, acted upon his anger, and now regrets his momentary lapse of control. It’s quite sad really.

He is the character that has stayed with me long after writing the story. You have to wonder what he has been through to get to this point. He definitely needs a hug and some help. Thank you 🙂

But how do we know they didn’t deserve it? Just because he wants their love doesn’t mean that they loved him. They could have been addicts who abused him, but if its the only way he has ever been treated, it is the only thing he understands. I am sad for him.
That’s true, for a child so young to do this, you have to wonder why, and abused children still feel the need for parental love

Yes, you have to wonder what would drive a child to this. This is definitely a story I plan on extending so watch this space 🙂 I kind of feel sad for him too!
Scary! Things like this really make you question your moral compass.
On one hand, you feel bad for the character. Your sympathy seeps through as you imagine how he may feel, or what may have driven him to kill his own parents.
On the other, your heart sort of hardens at the word ‘kill’.

It’s made me think of that killer whose name I can’t remember (helpful!). Brian something I think. He was about 18 or so, as I recall. Killed his parents & went on holiday. Very strange boy, odd reactions and responses to things, interesting but disturbing case. Believed to have personality disorder, but not mentally ill, I believe. #BloggerClubUK
I haven’t heard of that – it would make a great true crime book! He sounds like a very disturbed boy.
