Welcome to day twenty-four of the A to Z Challenge! My theme is 100 word (give or take a word or two) flash fiction on the darker side of human nature. I hope you enjoy.
Xenophobia
They are trying to steal my mind, my thoughts. They want to make me like them, a clone with no independent thoughts or voice. No one will help me stay safe. I went to the police, they referred me to a specialist. I thought he would help, teach me how to defend my mind. I was wrong. He was no specialist. He was a shrink. He tried to tell me this is my problem, something he called xenophobia. I am not afraid of the unknown; I am afraid of what I know they are trying to do. He must be one of them.
For extended versions of the A-Z flash fiction pieces and some whole new stories too, download my book, Twisted Tales.

It’s hard to to tell if he’s the crazy one or the only sane one.
Debbie, My Random Musings
Yes, that’s true, it really could be either 🙂
Haneen Ibrahim
I feel sorry for him 🙁
Debbie, My Random Musings
Me too!
Natalia
I wish there was more about him! Poor guy is paranoid. Or is he?
Debbie, My Random Musings
He does sound paranoid, but maybe he has a good reason to be!
Patricia Lynne
Anyone not with you is against you!
~Ninja Minion Patricia Lynne aka Patricia Josephine~
Debbie, My Random Musings
Yep! Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean someone isn’t after you 😉
The Silver Fox
Poor thing. Must be a horrible feeling.
Debbie, My Random Musings
It really must be!
Yvonne
Who is the crazy one I wonder? I am really not sure…
Debbie, My Random Musings
Yes, it’s like is this person crazy, or are they just seeing something that others are missing!

I was wondering where you were going to go with X. I found myself trying to come up with a dark theme about X Rays but all my ideas turned silly. Great job
