I love this, I’m not overly crafty myself but I think I could manage this and it looks great!

  2. Jennifer

I haven’t thought of doing this in ages, but I have some lovely white roses growing in the front yard that would be perfect for it. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. A Right Royal Mother

I used to press flowers when I was about 8 but actually I think NG (nearly 3) would love this now! Thanks for suggesting it: might do this this weekend! (PS love the ‘make pinterest fails look like masterpieces’!)

  4. Sarah @ Mum and Mor

I’d like to try flower pressing. You make it sound easy and would like to give it a go. It’ll be a nice way of keeping flowers that I had as a gift. #BloggerClubUK

  5. Emma

I have always wanted to press flowers but never known where to start, now I now! A lovely idea for a present or card. Thanks #bloggerclubuk

  6. This is a gorgeous idea! I have my sons christening coming up and I might do this with one of the flowers from that to save as a special memory Thank you so much for sharing xx #BloggerClubUK

  7. Fern P

I absolutely adored pressing flowers as a child, but never once achieved anything as beautiful as your end result! I will have to get my little girls to try it out this weekend. Thank you!

  8. laughing mum

Gosh, I haven’t pressed a flower since school lol – I’d forgotten how easy it is! I might see if I get the teen to join the pre-teen and I for a little flower pressing session πŸ™‚ #bloggerclubuk

  9. Louise (Little Hearts, Big Love)

That looks beautiful. I’ve never tried to press flowers before and didn’t realise it was so simple. I ended up throwing my wedding bouquet but one of my bridesmaids had her bouquet dried and then gave it to me for an anniversary present which was lovely of her. Will have to try this with some other flowers though. #BloggerClubUK

  10. Oh this reminds me – my mum beautifully pressed a flower from my wedding bouquet – I need to find it and frame it – had never thought of framing it but I’m definitely going to now I’ve read this post – thanks Debs #BloggerClubUK

  11. Who knew! I’ve never done this might give it a whirl as my fingers are not green but surly I can manage this ! Great tutorial thank you! #bloggerclubuk

  12. ooooh that looks pretty thanks for sharing. We are currently cultivating our first sunflower for my sons school sunflower competition, I wonder if I could do this with the sunflower if it survives? #Bloggerclubuk xx

  13. My daughter got a flower press at Christmas and we’ve been taking great delight in pressing all kinds of things and then sticking them in her nature journal with some Modge Podge… #BloggerClubUK

  14. Petite Words

This looks great, so funny we were pressing flowers a few days ago! Some children really love it! It’s amazing how carefully they lay out the flowers and how serious they take it (: #BloggersClubUK

  15. I used to do it a lot as a teenager and used the ‘yellow pages’ though that isn’t big and heavy enough anymore!! I loved making cards for friends with them. I have bought a flower press for my girls which is great fun preparing but often gets forgotten during the 3 week wait! Nice crafty idea xx #BloggerClubUK

  16. Lisa

I’ve never been very good at this as I always forget about them. Then find them months later again. Haha
    Great post though!

  17. Lovely! I used to do this as a child with a proper flower press. I did press a few from my wedding bouquet, just in a heavy book, but unfortunately we completely forgot which book! No doubt they’ll turn up one day when we’re least expecting it! #bloggerclubuk

  18. I’ve been thinking of giving this a go lately – my last attempt was when I was about eight and was a bit of a disaster. I stuck it in the middle of an encyclopedia and the flower stained through lots of pages… as my parents discovered when they went to look something up! x #bloggerclubuk

  19. Oooo I love a pressed flower, I always some on the go to add to craft projects I’m doing. They are great on cards and can be popped inside those little keyring blanks and all sorts. I do pop mine in the airing cupboard to speed things up a bit though. #BloggerClubUK

  20. Cheryl @ ReimerandRuby

Beautiful! Have tried this when I was still in secondary years, need to give this a go again. #BloggerClubUK

  21. Sammie

I really really wish I had pressed my wedding flowers. I don’t even know where they went at the end of the night. πŸ™

  22. This is such a simple thing to do, we all should do it more often. I think I might get the kids to make some teacher ‘thank you’ cards this way. Wow, see that flash of inspiration!! #BloggerClubUK

A wonderful crafty tutorial, please join me for Trash 2 Treasure. A perfect way to keep summer flowers vibrant after summer has passed.

  24. The hippy christian mum

Hi this is great because my daughter had a flower press given to her as a birthday present in March and I’d no idea how long to leave the flowers in it for, now I do-thanks!
This is my 1st time linking up with #BloggerClubUK

  25. Very pretty and not something I have ever tried but one of the Peachicks got a flower press for her birthday so going to give it a go! #BloggerClubUk

  26. I think I did this once as a young girl but never since. It’s such a lovely idea to capture and important moment. I’d like to do this with wedding flowers (if we ever get married!) and I almost wish I’d have done it with just one of dad’s funeral flowers. It would be a lovely thing to have kept. Well done and thanks for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday

    • It would be lovely to keep one from your wedding flowers πŸ™‚ This one is actually from my Grandmother’s funeral flowers, some people say it’s morbid but I think it’s a nice keepsake! Thank you and thanks for hosting x

  27. Desanka @MommyBabyTime

This is so great! I have done pressed flowers and leaves but instead putting it in an envelope I used larger book to put the flower in.After you put some other heavy books on it and after a while your pressed flower is done! #BloggerClubUK

  28. Unhinged Mummy (aka Janine Woods)

I wish I’d had thought of this about seven years ago after I got married. I had the most beautiful tear drop bouquet of fresh flowers made for me by my husbands Aunt and I loved my bouquet so much that after the wedding I took it into a flower shop and asked for them to be dried out but it would have cost me Β£300 (money that I just didn’t have). In the end I sadly binned them after they died. I didn’t even think about just keeping one and framing it. At least I got lots of photos but it’s just not the same.

  29. Hi Debbie, I haven’t pressed flowers since the children were little. We used to place them between kitchen roll and newspaper and pop into a heavy book.

I like the idea of using a brown envelope, tidier than layers of kitchen roll!

    xx

  30. Crummy Mummy

I used to love pressing flowers when I was little! This reminds me I have yet to do it with BB… #twinklytuesday

  31. Clare

That is so lovely! I am definitely going to have to try this! I am obsessed with flowers at the moment, and some of these would compliment my new office area so well! Totally bookmarking this page! #bloggerclubuk xx

  32. I’ve never pressed a flower before believe it or not! We have pressed leaves before – the boys like to collect them. I like how you put the rose in a frame when it was dried, good work Debbie! #BloggerClubUK

  33. What a lovely idea! We’re so trying this! We’ve dried flowers before but never pressed them successfully. Going to try this technique! Great step by step guide X #TwinklyTuesday #BloggerClubUK

  34. Silly Mummy

Great guide & it looks lovely. I loved pressing flowers as a child and, funnily enough, I have literally just started doing it with my eldest toddler the other week – she loved it! #BloggerClubUK
