You all know I love a good summer cocktail (or any cocktail really). Tropical Breeze is my newest creation.
Fruity and refreshing, which I think are the main elements in a good summer cocktail, Tropical Breeze is really simple to make and really tasty.
Ideal for barbeques, summer get-togethers or just to unwind with on an evening, this is an ideal drink to serve as it comes, or to make into a long drink with some soda water or lemonade of you just want a nice, refreshing drink.
Summer Cocktail: Tropical Breeze
Warning: This is quite strong, but it doesn’t taste it. The picture shows the cocktail without any lemonade or soda water, but it tastes just as good with it if you don’t want it to be so potent.
You will need (per serving):
50ml Bacardi White Rum
50ml Bulmer’s blueberry and lime flavour cider
100Ml Smirnoff Ice (VK Ice will work just as well, I just happened to have Smirnoff Ice to hand)
Ice (if required). I prefer to stand the jug or bowl in ice rather than add it to the drinks, as once the drinks get into the sun, the ice just melts and waters the drink down.
Lemonade or soda water (if required)
Chopped fruit or berries for garnish
How to make it:
In a jug or punch bowl, mix together the Bacardi, the Bulmer’s and the Smirnoff Ice.
In each glass, place your ice and fruit if you’re using them. Add them to the glasses rather than the jug so the flavour isn’t impaired.
Chill the jug in the fridge until you are ready to serve.
If you are adding lemonade or soda water, chill this separately and add to your taste at the point of serving.
Sit back, relax and enjoy. I told you it was easy.

Yum! This sounds very refreshing and perfect for nice weather and BBQs. Will need to keep it in mind for when (if?) the sun returns ๐ x

Thank you ๐ It’s my new favourite drink! Let’s hope for a really good summer! x

I’m not much of a drinker, but I’d be willing to try a non-alcoholic version of this drink.
Debbie, My Random Musings
It was actually mixing blueberry juice with lemonade that gave me the idea for this! The non-alcoholic version still tastes fab ๐

I’ll have to pass this off to my SIL. She likes rum and cider. Alas, I don’t drink.
Debbie, My Random Musings
I hope she likes it ๐ If you don’t want the alcoholic version, blueberry juice and lemonade together are still good and refreshing!
Cynthia
This looks like a fun drink, though I might try it without alcohol.
Debbie, My Random Musings
It’s lovely and mixing blueberry juice with lemonade is just as good if you don’t want the alcohol ๐

Oh man, this sounds super strong-but delicious! I’m a new fan of rum, so I totally want to give this a shot. I’d probably add some lemonade to lighten it up a little, because my tolerance is, like, zero. Lol! Thanks for sharing x
Debbie, My Random Musings
It’s really nice but without lemonade it is really strong so go gentle lol ๐ x
