I love summer feel good movies (it makes a nice change from me from horror movies I guess). When you’ve had a nice day out and the air is turning chilly, it’s time to pour the wine and watch one of your favourite summer feel good movies.
Below, I am sharing 5 must sees. If you haven’t seen them yet, then do try to catch them this summer. If you have seen them, why not give them a second (or third, fourth, or fifth) watch.
My Top 5 Summer Feel Good Movies
American Pie 2
I love all of the American Pie movies (actually I love 1, 2, 3 and Reunion, I haven’t watched any of the straight to DVD ones that didn’t feature the original cast). They are all hilarious, but I think American Pie 2 screams summer. The beach house, the summer jobs, the parties, all of it really.
Road Trip
How can a road trip not make you think of summer? Add to that the fact that it’s seriously funny and it’s one hell of a feel good film. There’s crudeness, screw-ups and a couple of surprisingly touching moments along the way.
Bridesmaids
While this film doesn’t specifically make me think of summer, you just can’t have a list of feel good comedies without including it. I don’t think it (quite) lived up to the massive hype around it when it was first released, but it’s still got a good few funny moments and it’s definitely worth a watch for Melissa McCarthy alone.
The Inbetweeners Movie 1 And 2
I loved the TV series and I love the movies too. If you haven’t seen the series, you can still watch the movies and understand what’s going on, but you really should watch the series first because they are brilliant.
The first movie is set in party capital Malia, and I’m sure you can imagine the hilarious messes four lads just out of college and on their first holiday abroad together can get into.
The second movie is set in Australia, and while I don’t think it’s quite as good as the first movie, it’s still pretty funny.
To view any of the DVDs on Amazon, click the titles (they’re all bargains too, bonus).

I have not seen any of those movies. I guess I think of comic book tentpole movies for summer. Not that I generally go and see them. Although, one of my favorite of all time movies came out in August–Stardust.
Debbie, My Random Musings
Oh I haven’t seen that one, I’ll have to give it a go 🙂
