This week, we have Kelly from Reduced Grub taking part in the Blogger Spotlight interview.
If you would like to take part, and your blog is under six months old, or has been re-launched in the last six months, please email me randommusings29@gmail.com
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Kelly Eroglu and I am a 40-year-old mum based in South Wales. I have been a long haul stewardess for a well known airline for almost 20 years and I love meeting people from all over the world, absorbing different cultures and tastes. However, I am yet to discover my homeland of Wales even though I grew up here, and I am on a mission to discover the beautiful coastline and Welsh villages.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
My blog is called Reduced Grub and it is an easy concept of showing people how to eat well for pennies. A lot of people feel that if they need to cut costs or are on a small budget, that they cannot eat well and healthily, so I am showing people that this is not the case.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
I decided to start Reduced Grub as cooking is a huge love of mine, and when I realised that people spend a fortune on cooking ready meals and convenience foods, I was on a mission to show people that you can cook fab meals from scratch for a fab price.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
My main goal with my blog is to get more people to not be afraid of the kitchen and enjoy cooking, If I can convert 5 or 10 people to learn to cook from scratch, save money and be healthier, then for me that is a job well done.
5 Tell us one random fact about you
A random fact about me is that, I detest ironing and I pray for the day when creased clothes come into fashion!!!
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
The best piece of blogging advice that I have been given is to ignore the trolls. I have had many a nasty comment on different newspaper or TV articles and I refuse to read any of the dippy comments.
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
My favourite thing about blogging is that I can be sat down in my onsie, listening to nice music when I blog and that is classed as work. I also love the fact that I am blogging about my hobby, so I am encouraged to cook big meals often, however, my other half is dying for something normal like beans on toast or turkey burgers and chips.
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
If I was starting over again there is nothing that I would change, as I believe that life is a learning curve and we learn by our mistakes.
9 Anything else you’d like to share with us?
I would love to share with the readers that I have two fab competitions running at the moment where I am giving away tickets for The Abergavenny food festival and The BBC Good Food show in Birmingham. Both are two of the best food shows in the UK and I would thoroughly recommend going.

So lovely to introduce new bloggers like this. Her site sounds fab, anything to do with food gets my vote! #BloggerClubUK
Thank you 🙂 Same here!
What a brilliant idea! So many mums on my local Facebook mums network write stressed out questions on feeding a family for less. Kelly – I reckon you’re on to a winner here! Best of luck 🙂 Alison x #BloggerClubUK
It’s a fantastic idea isn’t it! x
I love the concept of Kellys blog. Cooking in the cheap can be such a difficult and daunting task. A little guidance to save some pennies is always welcomed in my house.
#BloggerClubUK
I totally agree – it’s a fantastic idea, and something we can all learn from
This is a great interview; it is such a lovely idea of a series on your blog to give new upcoming bloggers an opportunity.
I’m also a fairly new blogger I would love to take part of this #BloggerClubUK

#bloggerclubUK
It’s a fab name!
Great series, it’s really nice to be able to find new blogs to read! Hi Kelly – reduced grub sounds great. Will be looking out for your posts. #BloggerClubUK
Thank you 🙂
That sounds like a great blog to read! I’m sure she has lots of tips and tricks for eating right at a more cost-effective rate. I will have to check out some of her posts. Thanks for the introduction Debbie. #bloggerclubuk
It’s a fab place to find great meals that don’t cost a fortune!
I also detest ironing so we are kindred spirits!!! #bloggerclubuk
I don’t mind it if I’m in the right mood for it
Sounds like a great blog, I will have to check it out #BloggerClubUK
Thank you 🙂
Oooh I love South Wales! My hubby comes from down there. And I love that I can be “working” but still in my PJs, hair a mess, and even cuddled up in my duvet if I want!
Reduced Grub sounds great – eating healthily is really important. We live on a tight budget and I know the struggle of weighing up cheaper, less healthy options, etc. I’ve just been over and followed you on twitter 🙂 #bloggerclubuk
Its amazing working in your PJs!
Oh fab I like the sound of this, I usually take a notion to cook something from scratch and spend a fortune on ingredients that get used once then sit in the cupboard until they go off!! Great prizes too, the Abergavenny food festival is really good fun! #BloggerClubUK
I do exactly the same!
Ooooh this blog sounds right up my street. Will take a look!
#BloggerClubUK
I love this series and finding new blogs. I love that I can blog in my pjs and sit on the sofa eating chocolate. X
Thank you 🙂 PJ days rule! x
Thank you for sharing this awesome blog! I’ve enjoyed looking at it and all her awesome recipes!
Thank you 🙂 It’s a fab blog!
Lovely to meet you, Kelly! I love money-saving tips and I’ve done a few low cost foodie things on my blog since starting. (There isn’t much food on there but I did a reduce food waste post and one about making a birthday cake quickly and on a budget). I’ve popped to your website and there’s some great recipes on there! Great series too, Debbie.
And I forgot the #BloggerclubUK
Thank you 🙂 I love food related posts, always good to find new recipes to try
Love this idea and will start following. Love food and cooking too #bloggerclubuk
It’s a fab blog idea isn’t it!
Really excited to find out about another South Wales blogger and totally love the concept of the blog. I agree – family food budgets could be cut, and children’s health improved greatly, if the emphasis was moved from pre-prepared foods. Would be great to meet Kelly in person soon. #BloggerClubUK
Hopefully you two will cross paths at some local blogging event soon! It’s such a good idea for a blog 🙂
Have not heard of Kelly and her blog before. Sounds like a winning concept and will be taking look. Thanks for sharing. #bloggerclubuk
It’s a fab idea isn’t it! Enjoy the blog 🙂
Thanks for introducing us to another great blog. I will definetely pay it a visit as always looking for new stuff to try out in the kitchen. #BloggerClubUK
Me too, I love finding new recipes
What a neat idea for a blog! Everyone likes to eat well and nobody likes to part with hard earned cash. Sounds like a winner to me. #BloggerClubUK
Totally agree – I think this blog is going to be huge!
Nice to read about you! #bloggerclubuk
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
“If I was starting over again there is nothing that I would change, as I believe that life is a learning curve and we learn by our mistakes.”
I really like that and will try to remember it! #BloggerClubUK
It’s a fab philosophy isn’t it! Such a refreshing way of looking at things
Sounds like a wonderful new blogger to me. I for one am inspired to read her blog. #BloggerClubUK
I hope you enjoy it 🙂
