Are you looking for some gift inspiration now Christmas is almost upon us? Everywhere you look there’s gift guides featuring beautiful gift sets, pyjamas, make-up, skin care – the list goes on.
I thought it was time for something a bit different, so I’ve put together a gift guide for the blogger or writer in your life.
Notebook
Every writer and blogger needs a notebook for those moments when you’re out and about and inspiration hits. Sometimes, you just need to jot those ideas down before they end up lost forever.
Diary
One of the most important things for any blogger or writer is staying organised, and with so many things going on at once, knowing what’s happening when is an essential part of the process. Having a diary with plenty of space for each day is a must.
Laptop
What blogger or writer doesn’t want a brand new shiny laptop? I love the Acer range, and this Acer Aspire ES1-512 laptop has everything a blogger needs to keep everything running quickly and efficiently.
Camera
If your friend or loved one is the sort of blogger who uses beautiful images on their blog and social media feed, a good camera is essential. The Nikon D3300 digital SLR camera is perfect for taking amazing photos whatever the conditions.
Editing Software
Following on from above, taking photographs is only half of the battle. Bloggers want to be able to edit their photos – to add text, focus images, resize them etc. And every blogger needs a way to store and organise their photos. A year’s subscription to Lightroom and Photoshop will get you major brownie points.
Pens
While not the most innovative idea, every blogger or writer needs pens – the more the better. Office pens, handbag or pocket pens, pens in every room of the house. It might just be me that never seems to be able to lay my hands on a pen when I need one, but I’ve lost track of the times I’ve scribbled notes in eyeliner. Pens make an excellent little stocking filler.
Coding for Dummies Book
Coding for Dummies is a guide to HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Coding is something that many bloggers would like to know more about so that we can make our sites look and behave exactly as we want them to, and this book explains it all in a simple to follow language.
Key Ring
This cute key ring is a fun stocking filler for any blogger. Its a great way for the blogger in your life to perhaps be able to mention their blog to new people who spot and comment on the key ring too.
Personalised Mug
It’s no secret that a lot of bloggers and writers depend on caffeine to get us through the working day (and night). What better gift than a personalised mug emblazoned with the blogger’s logo or the writer’s first book cover?
Smart Phone
A smart phone is essential for any blogger – update and connect with people on social media, respond to emails and blog comments, and draft out blog posts. These are all things that can be done on the go with a smart phone, and for anyone not massively into photography, the camera can be your best friend.
Microsoft Office
Most agents and publishers require manuscripts to be sent in .doc or .docx format so Microsoft Word is essential for any serious writer. Excel spreadsheets can also be a lifesaver for bloggers. Why not gift your loved one a year’s subscription to Microsoft Office?

A pretty notebook is totally essential!
I have a lovely note book which is invaluable! I am a Macbook girl through and through though and would never use anything else. I really really really want to get photoshop. I have used it in the past and really miss not having it.
