1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself.
We are physician parents who often feel like we are just trying to survive. Jeff, an ER doc, and Stephanie, a paediatrician, are parents to two girls, ages 4 and 2, and a son, who is one month old. We met in medical school and married during residency. We are trying to be the best parents and physicians possible. It is often a juggling act.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
It’s called 2docswithkids. It is a mixture of who we are and what we do. We tell funny or interesting medical stories, cover current medical topics, and share our lives as physician parents.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
It has been on our minds for about a year. Jeff has always loved to tell stories, especially medical ones. Stephanie had an early interest in journalism and enjoys discussing parenting and current medical topics.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
We would like to expand our reach and discuss topics that are interesting and relevant to our readers.
5 Tell us one random fact about you.
Stephanie can speak Mandarin. Jeff can’t, even though he has tried.
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
Post regular content and make that content remarkable (worthy of attention).
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
We love to hear when one of our posts has helped or entertained someone. After we wrote, “Prevent the spread of the stomach bug in your home,” we got a lot of positive feedback. It felt great.
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
We might have started earlier. We are having fun so far.
