April is here again and it’s time for this year’s A to Z Challenge. This year, my theme is motivational quotes. Each Monday to Saturday throughout April I will be posting a motivational quote each day starting with the letters A through to Z.
It’s traditional through the challenge to keep posts short and sweet, so that’s what I’ll be doing. Just a quick explanation of why I chose each quote and what it means to me.
Day 17 – Q
“Quit talking; start doing”
I think this quotes speaks for itself really.
I know if I spend too long talking about doing something rather than actually doing it, it becomes a mammoth task. I find problems that aren’t there and reasons why I shouldn’t do something instead of reasons why I should. The joys of over thinking!
If I just get on with it instead of talking about it, it gets done.
If we stopped wasting time talking about doing something, and instead focussed that time and energy on actually doing it, we could get so much more done in the same amount of time.
Are you an over thinker or a doer? If you tend to talk about doing things rather than starting them, how do you get past that and start acting on your words? Let me know in the comments 🙂
Don’t forget to check back every Monday to Saturday to see the next motivational quote!

There’s something to be said for pithy, isn’t there?
I like this a lot. 🙂

I agree to that totally…!

Yes! If I had a dime for every time I’ve wanted to say this to someone, I’d be a millionaire! Great quote and great topic. I love it!

Thank you 🙂

Speak only if you can better the silence, they say.
A very thought provoking, articulate post! Good read to begin the day with!

Simple but effective quote! I guess part of it is being held accountable. If I mention I’m going to do something, I feel obligated to then follow through. So talking can be helpful, as long as more time is spent actually doing!
Debbie, My Random Musings
I’m similar in that way – Once I make something public, it’s happening if it kills me!

I thought I was an over-thinker, but after spending the last 9 months of work listening to the world champion of over-thinkers, all I want to say to her is “DO SOMETHING or shut-up!!!” so this quote says it very succinctly.

Maybe you should print it out and accidentally leave it on her desk lol

A short and powerful quote… Hand out the short-handled shovels!

Fits right in with a quote I coined back in 2007:
“I refuse to sit around and wait for my perfect tomorrow. I will continue to savor my imperfect todays.”

Oh I love that!

Quit talking. Start doing.
(That sort of says it all.)

Five? Wow that’s hard core!

Ah yes! That is such a good reminder. Sometimes it can be so easy to loose focus while still in the planning stages. Thanks for sharing.
