Welcome to the Blogger Spotlight Interview. This week we have Jade from A Positive Parent taking part in the Blogger Spotlight interview.
If you would like to take part, and your blog is under six months old, or has been re-launched in the last six months, please email me randommusings29@gmail.com
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Jade, I am from the UK. I am 40 this year and I have lived in Ibiza for the last 7 years. My daughter is almost 5 years old and for the first few years of her life I raised her as a single parent which presented some serious challenges.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
My blog is called A Positive Parent. It’s a blog that shares great tips, help, scientific research and resources that support being a positive parent.
For example, I may blog about why gratitude is so important in kids, or why playing outdoors is vital to your child’s development but it’s not just my thoughts, it’s backed with amazing research from scientists across the world who have shown why these subjects are so important for children.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
Last summer I went on an amazing personal development course called iDiscover 360 and a key message was to do what you love, what inspires you, and make that your purpose.
For ages I had been thinking that I wanted to launch a blog that shared all the amazing research that I had been reading, as I know that parents don’t have much free time so wanted to make it readily available to people so they could see how powerful being a positive parent can be.
The idea that I can research something I love and then share it to help other parents really excited me.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
I would love to build a well known blog that people are inspired and excited by. If I could help parents think about how they are with their children.
So many people worry about childhood obesity, limiting screen time, regulating emotions and so much more and I would love to share all the amazing research I have found to empower parents to make the most supportive choices for their kids and I know it will lead to happier life for the whole family.
I would also love to have a blog that could generate passive income so I can spend more time with my daughter.
5 Tell us one random fact about you
I exercise nearly every day! It’s my one bit of me time in a day!
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
It’s only two weeks since I launched but I am learning lots @cuddlefairy has given me an education on linkys and that’s a great way to meet people and @mamainstincts gave me some great Pinterest advice.
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
I think my favourite thing is the learning! Learning about the subjects I am blogging about and then sharing, so great to know that I am helping parents understand what it means to be a positive parent.
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
I am two weeks in so not sure yet!!!
9 Anything else you’d like to share with us?
Ah there is so much I would like to share with you about the language we use with our kids, how our actions mean so much to little ones and so much more but that’s why I started a blog!
I would love to ask your readers for feedback on how they think I can improve my blog to make it as interesting as possible.
