1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Ky. I’m a 33-year-old mama to a very active 2.5-year-old little girl. I recently moved down to Hove with my partner and daughter. I am a stay at home mum, but hoping to return to the land of employment soon.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
My blog is called Snapshots and Adventures. It only launched a few months ago, but I am not new to the world of blogging. This is actually my second blog now. I mainly write about being a mum, our new house and my interests and hobbies, with a lot of photos thrown in.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
To document our daily lives, and to share my journey in being a parent. It was also a good way to keep my brain going whilst on maternity leave. Now I’m hoping to use the skills I have learnt to hopefully go freelance as a social media manager.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
At first I didn’t but now I’m sure like many others, making some money from blogging would be amazing. Obviously my blog hasn’t been going long so I don’t expect the offers of cash to just come rolling in. So for now I am just building my numbers, and finding my way in the blogging world.
5 Tell us one random fact about you
No one ever calls me by my real name. I’ve been known as Ky since I was little, it originally started off as Kylie then gradually became Ky.
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
Be yourself. If you aren’t enjoying it, then don’t feel like you have to do it. Just because everyone else seems to be writing about stuff doesn’t mean you have to. I spent a long time trying to ‘fit in’ with everyone else, writing about the things I thought I should write about. But I soon started to hate it, it didn’t feel like me. So I started again.
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
The community feeling. I’ve been lucky enough to get to know some lovely people since starting a blog.
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
Not really apart from I guess just being myself, and try not to get too worked up over numbers and stats.
9 Anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’m addicted to Instagram and taking photos.
