Welcome to the Blogger Spotlight Interview. This week we have Vicky from frankly Vickytaking part in the Blogger Spotlight interview.
If you would like to take part, and your blog is under six months old, or has been re-launched in the last six months, please email me randommusings29@gmail.com
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
I’m Vicky, a mum of two and newbie blogger.
I’ve been writing for about a year and have written for an e-commerce shopping site as well as a family app, but I have always wanted to start a blog of my own.
I love cooking (and eating lots too, obviously) going on adventures with my family and just trying out new things.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
Frankly Vicky.
It’s about anything I fancy really. I am a mum first of all, but like the idea of being able to write about anything. I am finding my niche and aiming to write about mums returning to work and working around a family, that sort of thing.
I am very honest in my views, hence the ‘frankly’ part of the name and promise to always give a frank, honest opinion on whatever subject I write about.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
I love to write and after doing so for a few sites and having to write about things for other people, I decided it was time to start writing about what interested me. I have a diploma in digital marketing and wanted to be able to use those skills to hopefully market my own blog too.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
I would like it to be successful. To say that I am only doing it for the fun of it wouldn’t be totally true, I would love it to be my career and be able to write for a living.
5 Tell us one random fact about you
I can perform the cup song routine from Pitch Perfect, it’s quite difficult (it took me long enough to master!)
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
Technically, it would be relating to SEO and how to ensure my blog can be found if searched for online. Generally, it was to make great content that I love and in turn others will enjoy it too.
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
It’s great to be able to get all my ideas out there and hope that it could really help others even in a small way.
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
I’m not the most technical of people (using WordPress sometimes hurts my head) so I would have probably tried to learn more about it before I started and not just gone on winging it, which is basically what I have to do now!
9 Anything else you’d like to share with us?
My personal goal is to write a book. I would love to write about parenting and I have a great idea which is different to those on the market now, but that’s another area which needs more investigating and something to look forward to in the future.
