Welcome to the Author Interview. This is the first author interview and it features the lovely Eileen Doyon, author of the Unforgettable Faces and Stories series.
If you’re an author who’d like to take part in the series, email me: debbie@myrandommusings.co.uk
Now over to Eileen:
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
I live in Portsmouth, NH with my husband and my cat, Ottie. I enjoy gardening, traveling on my motorcycle, visiting new places, visiting friends, and making new ones.
I have authored seven books in my book series, Unforgettable Faces and Stories.
2 Tell us a little bit about your books
The loss of family members early in my life has been extremely difficult, and most recently I lost my dad to lung cancer and was with him until the end.
I have been trying to figure out how to deal with death due to it being so much a part of my life. Most people will deal with loss at some point in their lifetime.
The past few years have been depressing, complicated, and dark. In receiving two treasures, my dad’s dog tags, and my grandmother’s chandelier, it meant so much to me, my attitude, and my outlook on my own life.
I felt their presence and their love all around me. I knew that others in my situation had to feel the same way. If so, I wanted to help.
So that became my mission: to help others talk about a particular theme and to help and inspire others.
My series is Unforgettable Faces and Stories.
I have released seven books: Dedications: Dads and Daughters/2013, Keepsakes; Treasures from the Heart/2013, Best Friends: Forever and Ever/2013, Pet Tales: Unconditional Love/2014 listed on Amazons Best Sellers list, Letters To Heaven/2015, also listed on Amazons Best Sellers list, The Second My Life Changed Forever, and most recent, Starting Over, Stories of New Beginnings.
3 Where do you find your inspiration for your books?
My inspiration comes from life. Life situations that we all deal with at some point in our own life both positive and negative.
4 What, for you, is the best thing about being a writer?
The best thing is getting feedback from both writers in my books and readers of how much my book and even a particular story touched their heart and soul and inspired them to move on to a better place.
5 And the worst?
The worst thing about being a writer is not having the time to do my book series full time. I have several themes that I want to compile and not enough time.
6 If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
The super power I would want is to heal the pain that people have in their hearts. Too many people today suffer with a “broken heart” from something.
7 Do you have any tips for anyone wanting to write their first book?
Yes, do it NOW…do it TODAY…do not wait.
8 Tell us one random fact about you
One random fact is that on my most recent book, Starting Over, Stories of New Beginnings, it is me on the cover with my dad’s trench coat and hat. I thought of the entire cover photo and I’m pretty excited about it.
9 Who is your favourite author?
My favourite author is Og Mandino. He lived local to me and I even had an opportunity to meet him.
10 And your favourite book(s)?
My favourite books are my own! And I say that due to the incredible, amazing stories that people, every day people, have written from their heart.
11 What book are you reading right now?
I am reading The Hired Men of Laureldale.
One of my friends’ grandmother wrote it about growing up on their family farm in the early 1900’s. It is a true story. She was 70 years young when she wrote this.
12 Where is your favourite place to write?
My favourite place to write is my office.
13 Do you prefer to write in silence or do you have a writing soundtrack?
I prefer to write early in the morning or late at night in silence.
14 What can we expect from you next?
I will be announcing my next theme in January 2018.
15 Anything else you’d like to share with us?
You have the opportunity to share your story told by you in one of my book series. Join this growing community.
16 Where can we find you? (Links to your Amazon page and social media)
Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Good Reads, LinkedIn and Google+
The most recent title in the series, Starting Over, is available now on Amazon and includes my story of starting over as a writer.

My dear nan is 91 today. I was born in her house and she helped bring me up until I was nine and has been a strong influence and major part in my life ever since. When I’m travelling to my visit I always fear I’ll find her ill or worse. I don’t know how I will cope with the inevitable but it is good to know there are books here to turn to. Thanks x #BloggerClubUK
