The Blogger’s Corner series is an interview series featuring advice and experience from bloggers whose blogs are older than six months.
If you would like to take part, you can find all of the details here.
This week, we have the lovely Aby from You Baby Me Mummy.
1 Introduce yourself
Hi, I’m Aby Moore a full-time blogger and online course creator.
I write You Baby Me Mummy, an award-winning UK Family lifestyle blog, which specialises in blogging advice, coaching and courses. I aim to help mums create more freedom in their lives by turning their blogs into their businesses.
2 Tell us a little bit about your blog
I started my blog when my daughter was 5 months old. I had PND, was being treated badly by my employer and most of my friends had ‘disappeared’.
I had no idea about blogging, but just wanted to record our special family moments.
Surprisingly to me I earned money within 4 months of starting and within 15 months was earning more than I‘d done in my life. I now teach other mums to leverage their positives, so they turn their blogs into their businesses and give their lives more freedom. Blogging literally changed my life and I love helping others use blogging to change theirs.
3 What can your readers learn from your blog?
My blog is packed full of posts which will literally walk people through the steps needed to move your blog from hobby to business.
However, what I hope people learn most of all is that they can do it too. I’m a mum, juggling all the things and I hope to show other mums they can make a success of their blogs too, even with hectic homes full of kids.
4 What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
I’m literally the biggest blog geek, so picking one things is almost painful. BUT if I had to it would be the friendships I’ve had. I have literally made the best friends I’ve ever had in my life through blogging and I’m so grateful for that every day.
5 And your least favourite thing about blogging?
I’m not a fan of social media scheduling. I also hate it when you get an opportunity and other bloggers say, ‘oh you’re so lucky’, as if no work was involved and it just fell into your lap!
6 Tell us one random fact about you
Oh there are so many to pick from. The weirdest would probably be that I hate bumpy things, they literally make me feel sick. Groups of mushrooms, bubbly bottomed fish fingers *shudder*.
7 If you could only blog about one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Blogging. No hesitation, it is totally my passion to share everything blogging, mind set and business related.
8 What was the hardest part of starting your blog and why?
In the past I thought it was time, I would struggle to try to ‘do it all’, but over the years I realised that posting multiple times of day is absolutely not necessary.
What is more important is quality content that helps your audience. These days I write MUCH fewer posts and still get more traffic than the old days.
9 If you could give new bloggers one piece of advice, what would it be?
I would advise ALL newbies to think about what they want from their blog.
Do you they want it to be a hobby or a business?
If you want it to be a business, you will have to invest in it at some point. You have to treat it as if it is already a business.
10 Is there anything you know now you wish you’d known in the beginning?
I would advise ALL newbies to learn about SEO sooner rather than later. Seriously, it will save you so much time AND bring you so much more traffic.
11 Do you have any long term goals for your blog?
I have a few.
I would like to grow the courses part of my business and use my blog to support that with content.
I would love to be able to offer scholarships to mums who may not be able to afford my courses, so they can get the skills and move their blogs forward.
I also want to launch a podcast and grow a larger US following.
12 Who’s your blogging hero?
Regina from ByRegina.com is a total rockstar and is so gifted and down-to-earth. She has helped me so much in my blogging journey so far.
13 What your favourite social media network and why?
Social Media is a funny beast, a couple of years ago I loved Instagram and felt so much passion for it, but now I would happily leave Instagram if it wasn’t for stories (which I love).
I have never really liked Facebook, but around a year ago I started going live on Facebook and it totally changed the game. I fell totally and utterly in love with ‘going live’ and I have also developed a large community the ‘Mamapreneur Revolution’.
My monthly membership, the Revolution Inner Circle is also on Facebook, meaning Facebook is now a place I love.
14 Where can we find you (blog link and links to any social media)?
My blog, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube and Teachable (for my courses).

I’ve moved away from Facebook recently but I’ve never tried the Live. Maybe I should give it a shot! #AnythingGoes
Maria | passion fruit, paws and peonies
I used to love Facebook – but as soon as I added the necessary affiliate ‘with…’ my views have dropped badly – so frustrating. Like Aby I love Instastories too. x #AnythingGoes

Great interview as I’m on one of Aby’s ‘followers’ as such! She has imparted so much of her blogging knowledge that I have learnt a great deal about how to get the most out of my blog. I love reading about other bloggers as sometimes we rarely hear about the person behind the blog!
