Welcome to the Blogger Spotlight Interview. This week we have Mr Dad Diary taking part.
If you would like to take part, and your blog is under six months old, or has been re-launched in the last six months, please email me randommusings29@gmail.com
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself?
Husband of a wonderful wife. Dad of two beautiful daughters. Fast approaching 50, while bumbling through parenthood.
I work for a national charity and spare time is spent doing things together as a family, or when I have some alone time, hitting the Xbox or binge watching boxsets.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
Mr Dad Diary – It’s a journal of our girl’s trials, tribulations and achievements mixed with the odd bit of advice I’ve picked up along the way.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
I see it as a modern diary, something for the girls to look back on in years to come. If anyone else wants to read it then that’s a bonus.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
Ideally, I’d like to build its following but the main thing is to make sure I’m keeping an honest account of what I’ve gone through as a parent and help others to learn from my mistakes.
5 Tell us one random fact about you
I’m a complete Walt Disney World geek
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
Write about things you’re interested in rather than what you think will get hits. Good writing will attract interest.
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
The satisfaction you get when just one stranger reads and likes the waffle I’ve written.
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
Set time aside for blogging – I started blogging when I had a few spare minutes using an iPad or iPhone. Recently I’ve invested in a small laptop and set aside two evenings a week. As a result, my blogs appear on a more regular basis and the interest is slowly growing
9 Anything else you’d like to share with us?
Take time to read and follow blogs on the same subject as yours. Always try and comment. It’s a great way to make new friends and it gets your on-line profile out there.
