Welcome to the Blogger Spotlight Interview. This week we have Michele from Confessions of Parenting taking part.
If you would like to take part, and your blog is under six months old, or has been re-launched in the last six months, please email me randommusings29@gmail.com
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Michele. I am a mom, a step mom, a wife, an ex wife, and a Family Life Educator with my bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies trying to keep it all together.
When I was 20 I became a step mom. Since then I have gone through a divorce, a remarriage, blended a new family, and have become a his, mine, and ours family.
I have learned the ins and outs of how to successfully step parent as well as how to blend families while strengthening my own marriage. With 5 kids total I have had life experience raising kids and having kids. While I have gone through life I also have researched the most successful ways to make families successful.
When I am not pursuing my passion of helping families, you can find me at my kid’s football games, baseball games, and gymnastics meets cheering them on. I have a passion for the outdoors and going on adventures with my family. I love running and staying in shape. In my limited free time you will find me in the kitchen trying new recipes or curled up with a good book.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
My blog is Confessions of Parenting. On our blog we talk about hard things like raising crazy kids while trying to strengthen our marriages. We join together as a group to figure out how to make our families and marriage more successful while overcoming our own insecurities as being “just a mom”. Here we figure out how to love more and lead more simplistic lives.
If you want to love life again, have fun raising your kids, love your spouse more and learn how to be a successful blended family and step parent come join us.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
I decided to start a blog to help others. After graduating in December of 2016 with my degree in marriage and family studies I wanted to apply what I had learned to help others. After thinking about how to best do this I jumped head first into the blogging world.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
My overall goal is to help more stepfamilies succeed. When I was getting remarried I was going into unknown waters. I searched everywhere for help and couldn’t find it. I knew at that point we needed to provide resources for people like our family to have a better chance of succeeding at combining families.
5 Tell us one random fact about you
I have never travelled outside the United States.
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
“Haters going to hate, just ignore them”
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
I love writing and connecting with my audience. I love on the days that you question why you are blogging those are the days where you receive the tender mercies from readers saying something they read helped them so much. My readers are my inspiration and why I keep going.
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
Be cautious of what you decide to name your blog… Does it really encompass your whole blog? Does it catch reader’s attention?
9 Where can we find you? (blog link and links to any social media)
You can find me at my blog, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.
