My Thoughts on The Book
Before starting this book, I’d already heard several people say the ending was disappointing, but I was determined to go into it with an open mind. By about three quarters of the way into the book, I began to suspect how it would end, and I tried to work out why people were disappointed with the ending – I figured it was just not the ending they’d hoped for.
But I was wrong about what I thought would happen. The book took another twist and the ending I’d expected (which in my opinion would have been a far more powerful ending) didn’t come. As much as I wanted to be open minded, I have to agree that the ending was disappointing – the story just sort of fizzled out.
It’s a shame because the book had a really interesting premise, and up until the last chapter or two, I was really enjoying it.
Overall, I still really enjoyed the book (so much so that it made my top five books of 2018 so far)- it was well written and the plot was fantastic.
Conclusion and Rating
Aside from the ending, The Marriage Pact is a good book that explores an interesting idea. It explores love, marriage, power, the cult mentality and much more. If the ending had been stronger, the rating would have been higher. 3.5/5.

Oh, that’s disappointing! I don’t necessarily have to like the ending of a book, but it shouldn’t just fizzle. #AnythingGoes

I agree – sometimes I hate the way a book ends, but I get it. A lot of people like this ending though. I think it’s a bit of a marmite thing lol

Ooh. The promise of this book does sound good but it’s such a shame about the ending! I probably won’t give this a go. I hate to be disappointed at the end.

Hmm, maybe I’ll skip checking this one out.

It sounds like it might be a good read but I’ve personally had enough of anything to do with marriage so I’ll be skipping this one. Maybe when I’m older lol

Bummer it did not end well. I hate books that fizzle out. Better luck next time! #anythinggoes

Yes, I thought you may be disappointing with the ending; I was too but it was still a good read and I would recommend it. #anythinggoes
