Welcome to this year’s A-Z Blogging Challenge. My theme for this year is character prompts. Each day throughout April, you’ll find a new character prompt that relates to that day’s letter.
Day Eighteen: R – Reality Show
Your character goes on a reality show where they swap lives with someone else for two weeks.
What life are they given for the two weeks? Are they excited about it?
How do they cope with living a different life? Do they find the new life better or worse than their own?
What do they learn from the experience if anything?
Would they do it again? Why or why not?
I’d love to read some of the scenarios you create. Email them to me at debbie@myrandommusings.co.uk and I’ll share some of my favourites over the coming months here on the blog.

The transfer went well. Ari had picked to be an ant. He was quite sure why. Just going from being an acromegalic freak to something small and tidy, he supposed. Something which could ‘scurry’. Yes, he liked the idea of scurrying.
Scurry, he did. The other ants paid him no attention at all other than to pass on the next egg for him to pass on to the next ant and so it went. On and on. Then it was scurry down to check on the queen, who also paid him no attention and then it was back to the forest floor and search for food, then back to the nest for egg duty.
The retransfer was problematic. Ari’s friends and family could stop him scurrying hither and thither picking things up and passing them on. It would have been so bad if it wasn’t that he then kept fiddling with mum, trying to find eggs.
She ran the studio. Would they give Ari another run?

…don’t know why, but all my ‘nots’ got lost!!! or perhaps I was scurrying too fast to get it written… they could NOT stop him… it would NOT have been… (Can’t help myself – the brain storms!!!) Yxx

Great take on it. I wouldn’t have thought of choosing an ant
The Silver Fox
No real ideas for this one. Usually when there’s some kind of swap like that, the “grass is always greener” syndrome comes to play, and one person has to deal with the other’s problems. I’d probably try to find an angle other than that.

Interesting concept. Thought provoking!

I like this one also, you never fail to come up with great ideas to tickle our thoughtful minds! #AnythingGoes

Ooh. I think it would be really interesting to swap lives with someone to know. I find the way others live fascinating. You get a glimpse when you live with people for a short while!

His wife died tragically and his life began to unwind. Worse of all he can’t be there for his children and they start to turn away from him. He considers suicide. My female character swaps with his life and has two weeks to understand this guy and help turn his life around. Love story…?
Debbie, My Random Musings
Love this idea and it could be the basis for a great love story

Interesting idea. You can learn alot from walking in someone else’s shoes but many of those reality shows that tried to show that never quite managed it!

Oh What about a hubby & wife swapping lives for two weeks. I know I have always wanted to do it with my hubby. White collar corporate, can manage 250 staff under him but can he run a house…
Debbie, My Random Musings
I’d like to be a fly on the wall for that one!

What a great topic. Can I swap with a princess who sits around all day? I feel all I do is clean up after little humans! #anythinggoes
Kayleigh (mini Human Resources)
I’d like to swap lives with my kids – maybe then they’d realise just how much I do for them and how good their lives actually are! 😂 #anythinggoes
Michelle | The Willow Tree
My character would swap places with a scientist who is working on a secret development…my character goes on a journey to explore whether this development is one to save the world or ruin it… #anythinggoes

I like that idea!
Musings of a tired mummy...zzz...
This is a great prompt as there are so many permutations available. I think most people could cope with change for a fortnight #anythinggoes
Michelle Kellogg
That’s an interesting topic that I never thought of before. I’ve been meaning to practice some of these but have been way too busy. These are all great topics though. I’ll get to them eventually. #anythinggoes

What a great idea. I love your prompts. One day I will have the time to sit down and write something inspired by them! #Anythingoes
