Welcome to this year’s A-Z Blogging Challenge. My theme for this year is character prompts. Each day throughout April, you’ll find a new character prompt that relates to that day’s letter.
Day Five: E – Enter a Frenemy
Your character’s main frenemy shows up at an event your character is attending.
Who is their frenemy and why do they have that relationship?
Does your character do anything to try and sabotage their frenemy? Does their frenemy do anything to try to sabotage them? How does it play out?
Does your character secretly wish they could just be friends or do they secretly wish their frenemy would leave their life?
I’d love to read some of the scenarios you create. Email them to me at debbie@myrandommusings.co.uk and I’ll share some of my favourites over the coming months here on the blog.

Okay, this ol’ gal had to look up ‘frenemy’ cuz it ain’t in any book of words I have.
I kinda have a love-hate relationship with language and it goes and shows up right when am trying to have an evening of culture. How bally dare it???
That scene-stealing toe-frizzer, Frenemy can just go stick itself where it belongs.
What? Where?
Well the Wiktionary I s’pose!
YAM xx
Haha good plan! x
Another interesting development. Keep your Frenemy’s close?
Always!
Isn’t it sad that we live in a world where we all know what Frenemy means and probably have all encountered at least one in our lives. The word immediately brings to mind a particular ex-friend of mine who I’m glad is no longer in my life.

I think frenemies have been around for as long as we have, just now we have a word that we can se in polite company lol. It is sad though because we just don’t need that level of negativity in our lives
Ah! This scene would make for an interesting reading in a story. But in real life it’s pretty stressful 😀
So stressful in real life!
This is great! I’m currently trying to create a cast of characters for a new novel idea I’ve got, and I actually think a frenemy might be a great addition! Thank you so much!
I’m so glad it’s inspired you 🙂
Good prompt. Frenemies definitely spark up any story!
OH, Frenemies!
I think everyone had at least one of those at some point of life.
Definitely!
Ooo frenemies are an interesting topic! Can’t wait to see what people come up with. 🙂
