Welcome to this year’s A-Z Blogging Challenge. My theme for this year is character prompts. Each day throughout April, you’ll find a new character prompt that relates to that day’s letter.
Day Four: D – Dinner Party
Your character is attending a dinner party. They get a little tipsy and reveal one of their secrets.
What would the secret be?
How would your character feel about the revelation? Embarrassed? Relieved it’s out?
How would the other guests at the dinner party react to the news and how would this affect your character?
I’d love to read some of the scenarios you create. Email them to me at debbie@myrandommusings.co.uk and I’ll share some of my favourites over the coming months here on the blog.

hmmmmmm …
Doreen flicked her glass and glared pointedly at the host, who refilled it – for the eighth time.
“That’s it Freddling,” she cackled. Not that she meant to but there it was cackled and she couldn’t uncackle it. “oops, the witch will out, what?!”
The table fell silent for the first time in the three hours she had endured. “What? you think we all wear pointy hats and carry bristly brooms?”
Doreen was fed up now. Rising, she placed her handbag on the floor by her chair and stepped into it.
All that was left was the sound of her cackle.

Love it! That would be an epic dinner party
I think y character would say a confession..mostly a love confession to her long time crush in front of the whole college and then the crush is crushing too but since my character is not popular he decides to hang out with the cheerleader character until he realizes that my character might go away with someone else 😛
Great scenario. I hope your character does go away with someone else – someone who sees her worth!
Love this scenario! I’m making a list.
Yayy 🙂
It’s prompts like this that make me very grateful I’m not a drinker – the thought of getting tipsy and letting the cat out of the bag really freaks me out. Once it’s out you can’t stuff it back in again can you?

D for Don’t Give Up
That’s so true – it’s all too easy to slip up when you’ve had a drink! Luckily the skeletons in my closet are very boring haha
That’s a lovely prompt
Reminded me of the movie clue. Would try my hands on it. May be for one of my soties for AtoZ.. if it’s alright with u?
Of course – I’d love to see what you come up with 🙂
Ah! Have read about great conversations around the dinner table in so many books and of course secrets tumble out during the course of the meal too. Truly a wonderful scenario to share or spill the beans. Thanks for the prompt, Deborah!
It’s a great scene if done well 🙂
What a clever way to inject action into a plot, reveal something unknown. I’m not into prompts but I like your posts for coming up with creative plot twists.
Thank you 🙂
I love this! What a good idea when stuck in a rut with a character, too!
