Welcome to this year’s A-Z Blogging Challenge. My theme for this year is character prompts. Each day throughout April, you’ll find a new character prompt that relates to that day’s letter.
Day one: A – Abandoned House
Your character is exploring an abandoned house.
What can they see? Hear?
How do they feel? Are they scared? Excited?
Why is the house abandoned? Is it said to be haunted? Did a developer go bust and leave the house almost finished?
Why are they exploring the house? Are they just curious or is there a more sinister reason?
What do they hope to find and do they find it? If they find it, is it everything they expected it to be?
I’d love to read some of the scenarios you create. Email them to me at debbie@myrandommusings.co.uk and I’ll share some of my favourites over the coming months here on the blog.
If you enjoy these exercises and you want more creative writing prompts, writing tips and support, join The Writer’s Den group on Facebook now.

This is a wonderful idea to get the creative juices flowing. Sadly I’m up to my ears in the A to Z Challenge and can’t do any of these exercises now. Which doesn’t mean I won’t be back tomorrow to see what you suggest.

Thank you 🙂
