Welcome to this year’s A-Z Blogging Challenge. My theme for this year is character prompts. Each day throughout April, you’ll find a new character prompt that relates to that day’s letter.
Day Six: F – Free Holiday
Your character wins a free two-week holiday. They can go anywhere in the world with any person.
Where do they go? Why?
Who do they take with them? Why that person?
What do they get up to on the holiday?
Do they have a good time?
How does the holiday change them if it does?
How do they feel upon their return home?
I’d love to read some of the scenarios you create. Email them to me at debbie@myrandommusings.co.uk and I’ll share some of my favourites over the coming months here on the blog.

… have got half a novel written in my head based on this one – yes, in just that few minutes of reading; I’ve got a crazy mind! Will beaver away on that and who knows where it will go (or them…) &*> YAM xx
So pleased it’s inspired you! I hope to read that novel one day 🙂
I’m hooked to your prompts. just outstanding. I love the idea how you involve your reader. brilliant!
Thank you 🙂
This is a great starting point. I’m loving these prompts.
Lets see, my character wins a holiday and takes her entire family. After a long time the whole family has come together and they have the time of their lives until…..
Great start point 🙂
My character wins a mystery flight for just herself. It turns out to be on another planet…
Now that’s a prize worth having!
This can be the beginning of a great adventure or a perfect place for a murder…
Love your prompts and the responses from the readers too 🙂
Or maybe a mix of both!
Why is it only in fiction that people win free holidays? Wouldn’t it be nice if it happened in real life? I’d love to win a holiday – I don’t think I’d care if it was down the street, as long as it involved a 5 star hotel and being pampered!

I’ve just read what you sent – I loved it
Ooh, this really made me think. My character has a contagious disease that makes people go crazy as one of its side effects. So she doesn’t go many places but this city in California that is quarantined. I think she would go to the place in Pennsylvania where she was when she contracted the illness. It is pretty remote and beautiful, so with a little planning she probably wouldn’t meet anyone she could infect. This was kind of a sad train of thought for me, strangely enough!
If anyone deserves a holiday it’s that girl!
This has so many possibilities. Nice.
How about instead of a writing prompt, this really happens to me? 😉

That would be awesome!
