Welcome to this year’s A-Z Blogging Challenge. My theme for this year is character prompts. Each day throughout April, you’ll find a new character prompt that relates to that day’s letter.
Day Twenty-Two: V – Vision of the Future
Your character wakes up from a dream more vivid than any they’ve ever had. They’re certain it was a prophetic dream that showed them they will die in an accident in the next month.
How do they feel about it? Do they try to convince themselves it wasn’t real?
Do they tell anyone? If so, who, and does the person/people believe them?
What do they do to try to stop and the vision from coming true? Does it work? And what consequences does it have?
I’d love to read some of the scenarios you create. Email them to me at debbie@myrandommusings.co.uk and I’ll share some of my favourites over the coming months here on the blog.

Am adding this one to my list of ‘to ponder later’! Like this concept and want to ponder it more than five minutes. YAM xx

My charecter has convinced himself that he is going to die. Initially he cries, and shares this vision with his family and tells them that he wants to do everything he wished for in this month. If he dies he will die a happy man..if he doesnt he will be happy nonetheless.
First, he wants to secure his family…..

Another great one, so many people have strong dreams and don’t know what to make of them, so this would really resonate with readers #BloggerClubUK

No he doesn’t tell anyone but vows to make the next month the most amazing ever for himself and his family. Each day he does something with everyone else in mind; simple lifes pleasures. On day 30, he thinks they will die tomorrow and gathers his family and friends around and has a party with champagne, good food etc. A lovely end he thinks. That night he has another dream and when he does wake up he realises that it was a test; a test to see if could change his selfish habits and he passed! He lives his life with joy, spreading his new found love for his life as he goes. At the end of his life, he dies an old man in his bed.
Or something…..

Ooh intriguing. I’ve actually had dreams like this – obviously they didn’t come true but it’s rather scary! 😉

I have such vivid dreams sometimes, I have to wake myself up a bit in the middle of the night to calm down and get back to sleep. It’s my way of persuading myself it’s not real #bloggerclubuk

I was imagining a more sci-fi type prompt from the name! A vision of the future in a more general sense … I’m not sure how I would develop the actual prompt. Maybe after the prophetic dream my character refuses to get into a car ever again, thereby changing the future and transferring her to a parallel dimension where nothing is the same. In order to return she has to force herself to get into a car and live the car crash she was trying to avoid. Will this be the end or only her death in the parallel dimension? !! #bloggerclubuk

What an interesting idea for a story! It’s kind of creepy too but I can see how it could lead to some very thought provoking moments:) Thanks so much for having me at #BloggerClubUK

Musings of a tired mummy...zzz...
I had a really vivid dream years ago that Cliff Richard died and I’m always really surprised when I see him on the TV as I’m still convinced about my dream! #bloggerclubuk
