Welcome to day sixteen of the A-Z Challenge – P is for Perfect People.
My theme for this year is “The A-Z of My Favourite Books and Authors”. Each day (except Sunday) will feature a book or author whose title or first or last name starts with the corresponding letter of the alphabet.
Perfect People by Peter James is a fantastic look at “designer babies” and how far desperate people will go to create their perfect person. It shows how the situation can be manipulated to one man’s will and warns of the dangers of messing with nature.
The story is gripping and will keep you hooked from the very first page. The tension in the book only builds once baby comes along. The book has a creepy atmosphere that will keep you enthralled and turning those pages. The book has a few interesting twists that I didn’t see coming which I always like.
Have you read Perfect People? Did you enjoy it? Let me know in the comments 🙂

That sounds like an interesting book. One could easily make that idea a horror story.

It stays more in the thriller area, but it does have a certain chill factor at times that could have been expanded on and made it more horror.

I have not heard of this but this book sounds creepy! I had heard about people trying to design their own babies, which I do not understand. I like that this author took this topic and turned it into a thriller. Sounds very intriguing! #AnythingGoes

I don’t understand it in general, but to be fair to the couple in the book, they carry a genetic disease and lost their first baby to it, and their motivation is really just to ensure the baby doesn’t get the diseased gene. It’s a great read!
