Welcome to day seventeen of the A-Z Challenge – Q is for Queen of the Tearling.
My theme for this year is “The A-Z of My Favourite Books and Authors”. Each day (except Sunday) will feature a book or author whose title or first or last name starts with the corresponding letter of the alphabet.
I really enjoyed Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen. I liked the way Kelsea struggles with her role and fights to overcome her fears and be the leader her kingdom needs. I like the way she doesn’t shy away from the role, even when she is uncertain.
I really need to reread this one as I haven’t read the second and third books of the series yet and it’s been so long since I read it that I think I’ll need to refresh my memory before I dive into those.
Have you read Queen of the Tearling? Did you enjoy it? Let me know in the comments 🙂

I did read this, several years ago. And the second one.
But I read “Red Queen” by Aveyard first. And that made me dislike this main character. Maybe that’s me. Or maybe it has to do with the second book, that might be when I disliked her more. Lily, however, I enjoyed.

Oh I’ll have to see if my perception of her changes when I read the second book!

Looks like a great read Deb – my kind of novel. I’m always on the lookout for new authors, so I’m off to hunt it down at my local library or on Overdrive – then I’ll see if I want to read the whole series.

It’s a really good book – I first discovered it at my local library so I’m sure you’ll find a copy in yours too
