Welcome to day one of the A-Z Challenge – A is for Adele Parks.
My theme for this year is “The A-Z of My Favourite Books and Authors”. Each day (except Sunday) will feature a book or author whose title or first or last name starts with the corresponding letter of the alphabet.
I love every Adele Parks book I’ve ever read. She has a way of pulling you in and she writes such realistic characters. My top three favourite are The State We’re In, I Invited Her In and The Stranger in My Home. These books all feature normal people living normal lives that end up turned upside down by an event or a series of events. As a horror fan, sometimes it’s nice to read something a bit more “normal” that I can picture happening in real life to the average person.
Have you read any Adele Parks? Which one is your favourite? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Not an author I’m familiar with, I’m afraid! Glad you enjoy her work – is she the kind of author you would re-read?
Actually, horror fiction can be even more scary if it happens in an ordinary place. Ira Levin’s Rosemary’s Baby was the first of its kind to happen somewhere closer than Transylvania or wherever!
I would definitely reread some of them if my tbr pile wasn’t so big lol
I’ve seen her books around, and at first, I thought that I may have read one or two of her novels. So I checked her book list and realised that I’ve not read any of her writing at all! The synopsis of the books were intriguing so I’ll probably hunt them down and give her books a try!
They’re definitely good reads!
I’ve read most of Adele s books – Can’t single one out – they are all fab
I’ve enjoyed them all
She does write great books x Haven’t read this one yet though x
She really does!
She’s a new to me author. Thanks for sharing.
I love her books 🙂
No matter how much I read, I keep coming across authors previously unknown to me, and here’s another! I bet I’ll have quite a reading list by the end of the month!
Same here! There are so many amazing authors out there
Hi Debbie, thank you for liking my dentist post. I do not know Adela Parks but you certainly got my mouth watering. Exactly the kind of story I enjoy reading. Has she been writing for long ?
Are you on Goodreads ? I’d love to share.
Just type in my name and I’ll friend you.
Susan Rouchard.
She has a lot of books out so a good few years I reckon. I don’t use Goodreads, I just don’t get it
Hi Debby.
I’m not a fiction reader but do occasionally read a science fiction novel. I have heard of Adele Parks before but still do not know what her writing is like so I’m going to have to take your word on this.
Blessings, Geoff in South Africa.
You’re missing out lol
Thanks for your visit. This is the only Adele Parks that I’ve read but I loved it.
Not an author I’ve read but it does sound interesting!

Definitely a good one if you like character driven thrillers
