As I think you all know by now, I love a good spooky book, and Corvus Hall sounded like it would be right up my street. Corvus Hall isn’t a novel – it’s a long short story or a short novella, and it can easily be read within an hour making it an excellent book to grab for your commute or when you just want to kill a bit of time.
Corvus Hall by Bibiana Krall
Blurb from the Back Cover
After Mary experiences a life changing supernatural event she is riddled with phobias and anxiety, but it isn’t until years later that she finally understands the message when she travels to Ireland for her best friend’s wedding and meets the eerie ghosts of Corvus Hall. Will she discover what they want from her before it’s too late?
My Thoughts on the Book
I enjoyed Corvus Hall. The descriptions of the house made it feel nice and spooky and there was plenty of suspense throughout the book. I would have liked the book to have been a little bit longer so the themes and characters could have been more developed, but despite that, I still got caught up in the story.
Once Nigel’s character is introduced, things get moving nice and quickly and the questions start coming. I was confident I had it all sussed out but I was way off the mark. I like a book that can take me by surprise and this one certainly did. I don’t want to give any spoilers but I loved the ending too.
Conclusion and Rating
I think Corvus Hall could benefit from a good editor to really tighten it up, but overall, it’s a good, fun read, that will keep you in suspense and keep you needing to know what happens next. 4/5

Not sure I fancy a spooky book, ha! But I do like the idea of a short read. Thanks for sharing your review #AnythingGoes
