I do love a good horror book anytime of the year, but Halloween is the perfect excuse to dive into a good, creepy book. Below are ten great choices to read on Halloween night this year. The books are in no particular order and please excuse the shameless plug 😉
The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty
Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell
Island by Richard Laymon
The Shining by Stephen King
Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin
Hell House by Deborah A Stansil (Yup, shameless plug alert)
Misery by Stephen King
The House That Jack Built by Graham Masterton
The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum
Dracula by Bram Stoker
Have you read any of these? Did you enjoy them? What’s your all time favourite horror book? Let me know in the comments 🙂

I would add Wake In Fright (different kind of scary but very scary) and The Road.

I used to read ‘spooky’ picture books to the kids in October but never did themed ones for myself. What a fun idea

I’m ashamed to admit I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to scary books.
