Welcome to day twenty five of the A-Z Challenge and today’s letter is Y.
The A-Z Challenge involves blogging every day except Sundays and each day corresponds to a letter of the alphabet. The daily posts most relate to that letter and can all have a theme or can be totally random. My theme this year is Recommended Reading, where I will share three to five books for each letter that I have really enjoyed and think more people should read.
I have tried to have a mix of authors and genres but you will notice some real favourites occurring more than once. The posts do contain affiliate links (don’t worry, they don’t affect you in any way but if you want to know more, check the end of the post). Below you will find today’s chosen books:
You by Caroline Kepnes
This book is fantastic, the way Caroline Kepnes writes from the point of view of a complete sociopathic killer is amazing. What is even more amazing is this book will have you rooting for the sociopathic stalker and then you will sort of catch yourself and remind yourself he’s the bad guy. The book is written in the second person which is quite weird at first, but once you get used to it, it’s quite good. I found that having watched the TV show already, it was hard not to read the book in Penn Badgley’s voice, but I actually think that helped the second person narrative voice to work. The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
The Yellow Wallpaper is a good look at the one mental health issues were dealt with in the past, particularly women’s mental health issues which were off put down to their hormones. The story shows how someone already suffering from anxiety being locked away alone to “get over” their issues actually maes things a whole lot worse. A sad but excellent read. Your Turn to Die by Sue Wallman
This book is another one full of twists and turns and you will suspect everyone at one point or another. This will keep you turn the pages long after you were meant to be putting the lights off. To read the blurh or to buy the book, click here.

Joanne
I haven’t read You but I was really surprised to find that I enjoy the show so much and I do find myself rooting for him at odd times! LOL
