For this year’s A-Z Challenge, I have decided to do “An A-Z of Sarah J Maas characters”. The characters will be from the ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses) and ToG (Throne of Glass) series’ because when I first started researching this idea, I hadn’t read all of the CC (Crescent City) series.
Each day I will focus on one character from ACOTAR, TOG, or both, and I will share things such as an image of how I imagine them to look, what I like or dislike about the character, and how they affect the story.
I will try my best not to have any spoilers and if there are any, they will only be small ones – if I judge this differently to you then I apologise in advance.
Without further ado, let’s get to today’s post – Day Nineteen, S.
ACOTAR – S is for Suriel
The Suriel is a kind of seer and a creature that can’t lie. Of course they can twist the truth and leave things open for interpretation. They are rumoured to be extremely hard to catch and very dangerous, so of course, upon learning this, Feyre goes hunting for one. She does manage to catch it, and in the process, she saves the Suriel’s life, meaning the next time she goes looking for him, he doesn’t hide from her. For all the Suriel is meant to be scary, there is something kind of sweet about him when it comes to him helping Feyre.
ToG – S is for Sam
*Spoiler alert* Sam is a character who is only present in the prequel book, but he makes a big impact throughout the whole series because of Calaena’s love for him and how losing him affects her. Sam is lovable and a bit goofy in his own way, but he has a big heart and his death was a hard one to handle, for all he wasn’t in the series a lot.
Do you like today’s choice(s)? Who would you have chosen for this letter? Let me know in the comments.

They are really good books, definitely worth a read!

I think it shows the author’s strength that she can make a minor character so impactful.
