For this year’s A-Z Challenge, I have decided to do “An A-Z of Sarah J Maas characters”. The characters will be from the ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses) and ToG (Throne of Glass) series’ because when I first started researching this idea, I hadn’t read all of the CC (Crescent City) series.
Each day I will focus on one character from ACOTAR, TOG, or both, and I will share things such as an image of how I imagine them to look, what I like or dislike about the character, and how they affect the story.
I will try my best not to have any spoilers and if there are any, they will only be small ones – if I judge this differently to you then I apologise in advance.
Without further ado, let’s get to today’s post – Day Seven, G.
ToG – G is for Gavriel
Gavriel is another member of Maeve’s cadre and he is a lion shifter. He is known as the Lion of Doranelle and is famous across the land as someone not to cross. We see a much softer side of Gavriel (spoiler alert) when he discovers that Aedion is his son and begins trying to win his approval. His story has a sad ending as he sacrifices himself to save his son.
I have absolutely no idea why I see Gavriel as this guy in the photo. I know he is supposed to look nothing like this, and yet I can’t unsee it.
Do you like today’s choice(s)? Who would you have chosen for this letter? Let me know in the comments.

I didn’t realize that this series had shifters in it. I guess that goes to show you just how little I’ve paid attention the series.
Ronel Janse van Vuuren
LOL. Sometimes we just get an image in our heads of what a character looks like, no matter how the author describes them.
