For this year’s A-Z Challenge, I have decided to do “An A-Z of Sarah J Maas characters”. The characters will be from the ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses) and ToG (Throne of Glass) series’ because when I first started researching this idea, I hadn’t read all of the CC (Crescent City) series.
Each day I will focus on one character from ACOTAR, TOG, or both, and I will share things such as an image of how I imagine them to look, what I like or dislike about the character, and how they affect the story.
I will try my best not to have any spoilers and if there are any, they will only be small ones – if I judge this differently to you then I apologise in advance.
Without further ado, let’s get to today’s post – Day Six, F.
ACOTAR – F is for Feyre
Feyre is the main female character in the series and I think she splits the fandom – some people love her, some people hate her. Personally, I like Feyre. I like her determination and her can do attitude and I like who she becomes when she is with Rhys and can be her true self. I love how she will throw herself into danger for those she loves and while her depressive state that she fell into at one point wasn’t exactly fun to read, I liked that it was included because I generally find authors gloss over the PTSD some of their characters would undoubtably suffer, whereas I think Feyre had a normal reaction to her circumstances.
T0G – F is for Fenrys
Fenrys, a wolf shifter, starts out as a side character, a member of Maeve’s cadre, but in later books, we see more of him and begin to see what he is like as a character. His dedication to Aelin is unquestionable and I love how he is the one she clings to when she needs to work out what is real and what isn’t. Fenrys has made no secret of his hatred for Maeve and he only swore allegiance to her to help his twin brother which makes it all the more satisfying when Aelin is able to break the oath he swore to Maeve and have him be a part of her court.
My favourite Fenrys quote – “This is what we are meant to do – protect, serve, cherish. What Maeve offers is a mockery of that. But it is what calls to a Fae male’s blood, what guides him. What we are looking for, even when we say we are not.”
Do you like today’s choice(s)? Who would you have chosen for this letter? Let me know in the comments.

I’m glad the author doesn’t gloss over the tough stuff. I’m sure some readers of the series are dealing with trauma and it might help them by identifying with the character.

To be honest, I am not much of a reader. However, your post has me intrigued.
Thank you for sharing!
Take care and best wishes.
