For this year’s A-Z Challenge, I have decided to do “An A-Z of Sarah J Maas characters”. The characters will be from the ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses) and ToG (Throne of Glass) series’ because when I first started researching this idea, I hadn’t read all of the CC (Crescent City) series.
Each day I will focus on one character from ACOTAR, TOG, or both, and I will share things such as an image of how I imagine them to look, what I like or dislike about the character, and how they affect the story.
I will try my best not to have any spoilers and if there are any, they will only be small ones – if I judge this differently to you then I apologise in advance.
Without further ado, let’s get to today’s post – Day Twenty Five, Y.
ToG – Y is for Yrene
Yrene is a healer who we first meet in Assassin’s Blade where Celaena saves her from being attacked and gives her the money to go and learn to be a healer. We meet her again later on in the series and Yrene is an expert healer.
*Spoiler alert* Yrene is tasked with helping to heal Chaol who has lost the use of his legs in a battle. She heals him and the two fall for each other and Yrene returns with Chaol to fight the Valg.
It is really good seeing the difference between the timid young woman Celaena meets and the strong, confident woman who comes back to fight for what she thinks is right.
Do you like today’s choice(s)? Who would you have chosen for this letter? Let me know in the comments.

I find that, even in real life, education causes that transformation.

After reading your posts that featured several not to nice characters I’m glad to see that there are some nicer characters.
