How is it almost challenge time again? It doesn’t feel like a whole year has passed since the last one, but I guess that just means I’m getting old right?
I had several ideas for themes for this year, and in the end, I chose the one I felt was closest to my heart, the one that will allow me a nice bit of nostalgia while also hopefully introducing my readers to some new reads.
My theme for this year is the A to Z of The Works of Stephen King.
Each day I will talk about a novel or short story written by Stephen King that corresponds to the letter of the day. I know by the end of the challenge I am going to want to revisit some of my favourite Stephen King books.
I hope you enjoy reading my themed posts as much as I am going to enjoy writing them.
Cool theme!

Wow! That is a cool theme, and kind of difficult to accomplish following the alphabet!!!
I love Stephen King books.
My favorite? Salem’s Lot
The one which actually gave me the willies? Pet Sematary
The one which shook me up because I can totally see it happening? The Stand
My first? Carrie
Nice idea! I enjoy some of his works, others not so much. I like suspense, but not outright horror!
But I’m not a fan of Stephen King’s books as I don’t read horror. I know he wrote other types of books than horror but you have to admit, the horror books are what most people talk about. I hope you’ll have fun doing the challenge.
Have a lovely day.
I didn’t know Stephen King has written enough books to furnish your A to Z but I heard he was prolific – still I am intrigued to see how the “difficult” letters like X and Z are fulfilled – good luck on your quest, Debbie…
Thank you! I was surprised to see just how much he has written
I love his horror books but I will be including some non horror too!
Good luck and see you in April if not before.
I read a lot of Stephen King for my MFA. Short version: I don’t like reading his writing, but I respect his willingness to play with form (the epistolary elements on Carrie, the serial publication of The Green Mile, etc.) Looking forward to what you have to say.
Yeah, I like how you never know for sure what you’re going to get, but you always know it will be good
Uh oh, I can’t handle horror! But I’m curious to read your reviews.
There will be a few non horror picks too
I’ve recently just joined a Slow Read Book Club which has got me back into reading again. I haven’t read anything by Stephen King, maybe your post will inspire me to pick up a book by him. Good luck for the Challenge
I hope so, he’s really good! Thank you
Deliciously scary theme.
I’m looking forward to this series as I am a big Stephen King fan!
Oh, I’m looking forward to this! It’s hard to believe, I know, but I haven’t read a single book by Stephen King. Hopiung your blogs will point me in the direction of the best one to begin with.
Here’s my theme reveal post, also related to books
I’ll be back!
All the best,
Josna
Hiya, just checking in that you are ok as you’ve gone quiet for a bit. Hopefully just busy writing….
I have been busy writing! I’m back now though. Thank you for checking in, that’s really nice of you
