The Blogger’s Corner series is an interview series featuring advice and experience from bloggers whose blogs are older than six months.
If you would like to take part, you can find all of the details here.
This week, we have the lovely Dave from My Wealthy Affiliate.
1 Introduce yourself
I’m Dave and I live in Hampshire, UK.
I’ve only been blogging for about a year but I love it and I love churning out more content full time.
2 Tell us a little bit about your blog
Well, I’m trying to tell the world that you don’t have to have a 9-5 job and have a boss.
Working online through various platforms is a billion-dollar industry, believe it or not. My site is all about guiding people through the maze of legit and scam websites because the internet is awash with both types.
3 What can your readers learn from your blog?
My site is all about providing my audience with good, honest and trustworthy advice along with tips and tricks to help anyone become successful, regardless of their age or location.
4 What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
That’s an easy one; it’s knowing that once the search engines start to trust me, I can rank highly with them and reach a global audience who are interested in what I have to say.
5 And your least favourite thing about blogging?
Waiting for what seems like forever for Google/Bing/Yandex to notice me and give me a presence.
6 Tell us one random fact about you
I would love to drive a motorhome (RV) from California to New York during the Summer months.
7 If you could only blog about one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
The fact that the internet has provided us with a vehicle to earn substantial income online, all we have to do is learn how to do it.
8 What was the hardest part of starting your blog and why?
Learning how to create posts the correct way and making them SEO ready by using free keyword tools.
9 If you could give new bloggers one piece of advice, what would it be?
Just do it, and when it gets tough, keep going no matter what.
10 Is there anything you know now that you wish you’d known in the beginning?
Not to jump from one idea to another – focus on one thing and keep going.
11 Do you have any long term goals for your blog?
Yes, to be able to earn more money from it when I’m asleep, than when I’m awake.
12 Who’s your blogging hero?
I honestly don’t have one because there’s too many to choose from. I like many for several different reasons.
13 What’s your favourite social media network and why?
Definitely LinkedIn because there’s always an article or post that I can engage in debate and I’ve gained quite a lot of business from it
14 Where can we find you?
Either on my blog or LinkedIn. Those are my online homes.
15 Anything else you want to share with us?
Hopefully this will inspire more people to start a blog and take control of their lives. You never know where it might lead.
